    Re: Philipp Lahm

Lahm is good but I think Miguel from Valencia is a better option. Sir Alex should sign him.

excellent signing.ofr me he is the best left back for worldcup 2006.eventhough he is LWB he also can play RWB.great speed.great overlap.great cross.just imagine the combination of his overlap and ronaldo on the right.

Through The Fire And The Flames:
I believe he's a better target than Hutton, Shorey or Ivanovic and we don't have a good history of German Players(if any) but i believe Lahm will mesh nicely in our defence Anyway, Newcastle wants shorey too, and they need him more than us
i don't agree with you here. For watching a lot of German football i d say that Lahm isn't a good target for us. Indeed he can't pal with his left foot and in the end he nearly always go back to his right foot to cross, while playing left back, which makes it easier for defenders to defend. I m more for the Hutton transfer. And partly because i believe on the left we have good covers in O shea and Silvestre when he ll be back.

    Varga Tam~s:

Lahm would be a great choice for the right back position. Better than Brown, younger than G. Neville. G. Neville has only 1 or 2 years back and if he gets injured again, he won't be back for sure.

lahm plays as left back!!!!!! he is not a right back!  i mean with germany, and with his club he plays as left back. we SURELY dont need any new player there. evra has been excellent. i always thought that we might sign sagnol who is unhappy at his club and is actually a right back :s  im not sure if lahm plays as RB, ive never seen him play in that position, but if he does, then it would be a good signing. he is a classy player

Philipp Lahm, a best wing back on the world, will be a good addition to Manchester United's squad. He is a good passer as well as a good crosser in both right & left wings. I think it is a right decision for Fergie to take the Lahm to Old Trafford. Whether Fergie get the Lahm or Ivanovic it will be a good refreshment for United.

    Manchester United forever fun,

if he costs 12m, hed be cheap at that price, better than paulo ferreira, who also cost 12m. would be an excellent signing for us

He's a great choice for a R/LB but I think that are going to be difficult to buy him, Bayern Munich is a big club and they want to prove that (they've spent a lot of money on transfers this summer bringing in playars like Ribery Toni, Klose...) and thats why they won't be to happy selling Lahm. Lahm is definitely going to be a great signing but it will be an expensive one. I will be happy if SAF brings him to the club as a long term replacement for Gary or whathever has he planed for 24 yaer old German attacking full back

    Re: Philipp Lahm

rudy, lahm is a right footed left back who is esily comfortale on the right back position, so he would play on the right with evra on the left. today we were linked with philipp lahm in the german press, so there could be some truth in him being linked ith us. i rather have him than hutton, who isnt the best RB whatever people say, only played well in scot v italy game and only emerged onto world scene in the past 12 months, so 1 good season doesnt make him a world class player, plus he has only got 8 caps for scotland showing he wasnt that highly rated before lest yr, where as lahm is a truly world class player, who has over 40 caps for germany, has been sensational for b.munich and germany for over 3/4yrs and is known around the world as a true star. hutton would cost bout 7/8m where as lahm would cost 12m, and with his contract trunning out in summer 2009 we could get him even cheaper in this summer

Lahm is one of the best full-backs in the world right now. If we have the chance to sign him i think we should. Tho i do like the look of hutton, he is one for the future. With our problems at right back we need a player at his peak who can add strength to that position now. and Lahm would do that.
