    Re: David Villa *Only Villa*

I think David Villa is an absolute monster in front of goal and that signing him would be great!

However, because of his performances in the Euro (4 goals in 2 matches!) his price will have sky-rocketed.

I'm not saying United can't afford it, I just don't think they're in the buisness of buying players at extorinate prices that's more of a Chelski thing to do.

What worrys me even more is this article I read this morning regarding David Villa.

    http://www.goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=737003

Now I as much as anyone has a deep hate towards Liverpool and think they'll never win a trophy as the're just shite but I can't help but be worried seeing Villa and Torres playing together. Considering the success Torres had this season adding Villa to the mix would only lead to the most feared striking partnership in the world!

He also mentions Chelsea but nothing about United so I think that just about ends the United David Villa dream.

Let's just hope he stays at Valencia ey lol!

Did someone up here mention that Podolski or Pogrebniak fits better to us than Villa??? My friend you should watch Villa in action very closely. This guy is one of the best strickers to come out from Spain since Butragueño. Forget Huntelaar, Luca Toni and these huge strickers, we need fast and accurate dynamics in and around the goal square. WE NEED A PLAYER LIKE VILLA. I'll go further, Villa is technically a better goalscorer than even Tevez and Rooney. Villa is a scoring machine. ONLY VILLA!!

    Re: David Villa *Only Villa*

Watching Villa playing superbly for Spain in the Euro_2008 obviously attracted many clubs. He is a terrific player with speed and trickery to go along with his scoring ability. He outshone Torres and very much the main man for Spain at the moment.

A few years back, when Villa was playing for Zaragoza, SAF has tried to lure him to OT but eventually he signed for Valencia. He is not having the club success as much as he would like and being a class player he should be winning more trophies. So he is available on transfer.

Villa will be a great addition to our strike-force but he openly declares his admiration to play for Arsenal so our chances of getting him is very slim which is disheartening.

Correct me if I’m wrong but we seem to fail to compete with other big clubs when it comes to signing high profile players. Remember Ronaldinho, Fernando Torres, Essien, Bosingwa, Aaron Ramsey (latest), and Arjen Robben the list go on.

I read the paper today and learnt that SAF makes the first summer signing in Davide Petrucci, Roma youngster who touted to be the next Francesco Totti. He has great potential but I wonder if he ever makes the grade at OT or he’ll be the next Rossi, talented young Italian striker but eventually sold to Villareal.

To be frankly honest, I think our current squad is capable of winning things even if we fail to buy anyone this summer. The departure of Ronaldo (If he leaves) will have big effect on us but I somehow think that we’ll cope.

    First Team Squad

GK: Van Der Saar, Kuszack, Foster

Defenders: Rio, Vida, Brown, Evra, Silvestre, O’Shea, Neville

Midfielders: Hargo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggsy, Nani, Anderson, Fletcher, Park

Strikers: Rooney, Tevez, Manucho, Saha, Ronaldo (If he stays)

I believe some of the youngsters from our academy will be given the chance to show their worth in the senior squad, so the team is looking alright for me. As many of us are hoping SAF to get another striker, Huntelaar will be a realistic target. He hasn’t played for Holland (Much to do with the presence of our x-hitman_Ruud) in the Euro so his price won’t be as much as Villa. SAF will make Huntelaar as good as RVN if not better.

We really need David Villa as simple as that.He has been the most prolific strikers in the last couple of years.Hes got everythink in a striker loads of pace skill good movement good vision and deadly shooting with both feet.I know that some people think hes not very tall but he can still score loads of goals with his head.People saying we need a tall striker his rubbish. All we need is someone to score around 25 30 goals a season and David Villa is the perfect man for the job.We missed out on Torres so please dont let us miss out on Villa ill be really gutted if we did.Do all we can to sign no matter what his priceis he is worth every penny

He's price will rise up after the Euro he's already scored 4 goals and I think he'll finish with 6-7 so he'll cost  something around 40 million

    Aidy Ball:

He is looking better and better with every match, He may not have scored a hat trick today but was a constant threat! Quality player real Quality.

The 1 thing you could be cetain of is he would not need many chances because the guy is a natural finisher!

I do not think we will get him, the whole of Europe will be up there in a bidding war for his signature.

30 WOW thats a lot i think he could do 20 but i'll meet you at 25, SAF might consider him since we lost out to torres but apprently tevez costing 30mil to be signed might mean we don't want another 1 team threat just a ole gunner bench striker

For the sake of the guys that like to post on "anyone think David Villa would be a good signng??" thread, the following are last five extracted posts there...

  • VIlla would b not only good but gr8 signing 4 united........................

  • Personally i think David Villa would be a great striker !!!!! In my opinion he is better than torres and he has everything a striker needs. The rumours of him leaving Valencia for a big money move SAF should be queing up to sign this guy as he is one of the best strikers in the world

  • this guy is class but i dont think we will get him now IMO its like the torres situation where we should have bought him a few yrs ago but did not and now EVERYONE knows he is good. its the same with villa where he has been class for valencia last few years but we have not gone in for him....i reckon we will get a squad striker who wouldnt mind rotating instead of starting eveygame in front of rooney and tevez like santa cruz or huntalaar or maybe berbatov depends if he wants to leave spurs

  • the only way to afford Villa is to sell Ronaldo or else we won't have the money to buy him as we will be beaten by clubs who are all about money like Chelsea and Madrid

  • I THINK DAVID VILLA WOULD BE A PERFECT ADDITION TO THE TEAM....ALONG SIDE TEVEZ AND ROONEY THERES NO KNOWING WHAT GOOD THINGS VILLA WOULD ACCOMPISH....I THINK SIGNING VIILA WILL BE THE BEGINNING OF MANY GOOD THINGS TO COME
