Re: SKYSPORTS!! Live (KEEP WATCHING): Post-Euro 2008 Ronaldo GOING!!!!

All of you on here saying he will 100% go or is pretty much gone, looks like the OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT today says otherwise.

I've never liked Ronaldo's personality! The Winker! He is a ManUtd player, that's why I have supported him, but once he moves to Real, he will become the player I hate the most!

I was just watching MUTV, some dude called and said something abt e saga surrounding ronaldo. Before he hung up, he said, "...blar blar....So long Sir Alex is here, man we do not need to worry abt anything. I think he's spot-on! Players can come and go, we will only worry when sir alex decides to leave.

I can't understand why Ronaldo is behaving like this.If he wanted to go,or stay, this issue would have been sorted out but it now seems as if he wants to stab us behind our back.

Re: SKYSPORTS!! Live (KEEP WATCHING): Post-Euro 2008 Ronaldo GOING!!!!

I'm a fan from Hong Kong and I have been supporting Man United for more than 10 years.

I am glad that Portugal lost to Germany last night, because it should make Ron knows that it will take a team of dedicated players to win anything.  And he himself can't always make great impact without good teammates like those in Man U.

Sadly, he didn't realise that point.  And to me, Real Madrid has always been a dirty club.  After all, the presidents just keep on attacking other clubs to get the big name players who can get them win in presidential election.  Look at Barcelona, would they unsettle other clubs' player like what Real has done on Ron?  Certainly not.

Ron said going to Real Madrid has always been his dream, that's what we can take, as we all know his family has always wanted him to play for Real Madrid (her mum is Real friend).  He can't be blamed for voicing out and trying to fulfill his dream.

However, moving to Real is certainly not a 'step forward'.  As we all know, Real hasn't really been able to challenge the Champions League for years.  And we all know Real is a club who do businesses rather than concentrating solely on football.

The one more reason he is willing to move away is that, maybe in Spain the style of playing football is different from that in the Premier League, maybe in there, teams like to play in a more tatical way, and defenders are not always want to knock you down even in the midfield.  And playing in Spain is more relaxed, because you see, players in Real used to underperform in some matches, and sometimes they just really play like suckers, without any moltivation.

Anyway, the main point is, I really don't suggest SAF to keep him, because keep him here will certainly affect the team morale.  But as Ron is so injury-free and can almost play every matches and his huge business value, I really suggest David Gill and Glazers not to accept any offer lower than 100m pounds.  Even 60-70m is not acceptable.  Chelsea has virtually made all players in the World to appreciate in values.  60m may not be enough to buy 2 world class young talents.  And the funny thing is, Real said money has never been an issue lol.  Just ask hem for 100m CASH.  I don't think they can pay so much CASH.  Poor Spanish government always support Real.  See how they have built a team full of big names but playing rubbish football in the Champions League.  They are simply not good enough.   Football is about teamwork and dedicated, which Real has never had for years.

What I hope is England can really give more resources to train and discover local young talent.  See Figo, he is even worse to had transferred from Barcelona to Real Madrid which are main rivals.  Portugeese seems care about personal pride more than any teams, except their national team.  Only English are always loyal to English clubs.  You see Italian players seldom move away from AC Milan and Juventus.

Re: SKYSPORTS!! Live (KEEP WATCHING): Post-Euro 2008 Ronaldo GOING!!!!

I think we all made enough fuss about Ronaldo in the past month. I think we should all calm down. If he stays I am sure SAF would give him a slap or two so he learns something about respect, if he goes then I am sure ManUtd will rip off Real. Many people here says 75mil, well I don't think so. We are the ones who set up the price, so I say put the 120mil price on him and whoever wants him for that money can have him - done deal. Real, Barca, Chelsea, Milan, Inter - are all in desperate need of a star player, the one who can score at any time, but Ronaldo's 42 goals were not all about him but about the team and the way ManUtd plays. As far as I am concerned he can go, his performance on Euro 2008 was really bad, all this media attention is coming to him and he is past his best. You'll see, even if he stays he will not perform even close to the last season....

Re: SKYSPORTS!! Live (KEEP WATCHING): Post-Euro 2008 Ronaldo GOING!!!!

Manchester United are the biggest club in the world no matter what Madrid or Cristiano's family think, and Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world so I think United should make Cristiano an offer he can't refuse because his contribution to our fantastic season was the main reason for our success, this would prove to Cristiano how the club value him and show Madrid who is the biggest club. If Cristiano does go to Madrid it will be the biggest mistake of his life he will get kicked out of every game and if he has a few quiet games the fans and club will turn on him - there is no sentiment in Spain. No player is bigger than the club but some players are bigger than others and Cristiano is special and players like him don't come along very often so I believe we must do all we can to keep him.

What is making Ronaldo hesitant in sorting this issue out once and for all?It could either be a new contract or a move to Spain.I mean,if his heart is still at United,he would have ended this speculation a long, long time ago and we wouldn't be witnessing this endless saga.

Re: SKYSPORTS!! Live (KEEP WATCHING): Post-Euro 2008 Ronaldo GOING!!!!

I'm going to mass-post this on many threads so hopefully some of you might take in something.

First, for all the Man Utd fans who keep saying "Ron can go if he wants... no player is bigger than this club... he can get the *** out blah blah", well it's true to the extent that No player is bigger than club. But calm down and think about it carefully then think again, and again... Keep this in mind: Club integrity is at stake

Second, my gut feeling says it's not going to be so simple that Ron says "let's see if we can have an agreement in a couple of days" and BANG! Man Utd agrees 75mil transfer deal with Real. I'm expecting a few more twists to come up. In fact, I'm intrigued to see how this whole saga pans out. The club has always made me proud, wouldn't want it to let me down here.

Going to take a 1week hiatus from the forum and see what drama comes along. For paul scholes forever, paz, phil, Mohd Ali, Nightstar, Utd forever n ever (or something like that) and the rest who's nick I can't recall (sorry!), I foresee a hellish time in the forum following through this transfer saga. Good Luck!! Stick out tongue

Re: SKYSPORTS!! Live (KEEP WATCHING): Post-Euro 2008 Ronaldo GOING!!!!

Disappointed as I am that Ron has apparently stated his desire to join Real now, I really don't want the club to sell him. Hold him back half a season or the whole season and even if then his price cuts by half then so be it. Because selling him now is going to have very serious implication for this club given how adament the club has been over not selling him. If we agree for a transfer now, firstly it's going to make the name and reputation of Manchester United a REAL (pun intended) joke. Secondly, it will not go down well with the rest of the team especially when you have guys like Nani, Tevez, Possebon, Silva twins and Davide Petrucci who are not as accustomed to the english culture looking on to Ron as an example. Any long term contracts we offer them will be useless in the future if the Reals or Milans come along and just pick them up on a transfer. These guys will be thinking Ron did it, it's no big deal to just say it's your dream and you start arranging for a transfer. As it goes, the name of Manchester United is going to carry less and less pride for any youngster we sign up. Sadly, it may like what SAF says, sit the boy in the stands so that we can prove a point.

If he leaves, I will be sad, but will still respect him. Remember that we did the same thing to Hargreaves a couple of years ago, and Owen still had a 3-year contract (or was it 4?) left with Bayern when we signed him. Having a contract doesn't mean that you can't leave. Both clubs just have to agree on the transaction, and if Ronaldo doesn't want have his heart with us anymore, I don't see why we should not sell him. Ronaldo will still be an awesome player with us or with Real, and Manchester United will still keep winning things with or without Ronaldo. I would be really happy and support him if he chooses to stay though.

I agree with ya but I wont be there showting out his name at OT and I wouldnt be shocked to see man utd fans boo him. The way hes delt with this is shocking and disrespectfull to SAF,back room staff, the players and us the fans. I dont know if i want him to stay he scores 50 next seasion and it wont change my mind.
