There are several reasons why Sir Alex is so unique and as to why he has managed so much success. Things like the way he always wants football to be played the right way, the ethics, his famed man management and so on. But they all stem from the one most significant asset Sir Alex has, an unwavering will to win. No matter the odds, no matter the opponents, no matter the injuries, no matter the weather or the circumstances, Sir Alex always wants to win. His team is never sent out to play out a game, his team is always sent out with one simple and very clear message, "WIN". The fans demand success, yet Sir Alex has always demanded even more. He makes sure that every single player who walks though that door at Old Trafford understands what they are playing for, the history, the tradition, the fans, the glory. It is that winning mentality, that pride in wearing and representing that shirt. That is what sets him apart from the rest, and that is why the Champions League final in 1999 was his greatest achievement. But it wasn't only because they won the treble, but it was because that game encompassed what Sir Alex is all about. You play from the first to last second, you never give up, you always want to win no matter what. Those few minutes all those years ago represented those very qualities in the most dramatic and memorable way.
Long may he continue, and as long as he does, Manchester United are sure to achieve success, he demands it, and he achieves.
