BobbyCharlton824:Here are the rules, 80mil max + any money from transfers out. Take into consideration retirements. Neuer (15mil) Ferdinand Vidic Rafael Evra Schweinsteiger (32mil) Nani Bale (30mil) Sneijder (35mil) Hernandez Rooney OUT Carrick (12mil) Gibson (7mil) Obertan (7mil) Macheda (7mil)
1- Schweinsteiger and Sneijder are both possible, just because they have signed new contracts doesnt tie them to the club, the oppertunity to move to a club with a better chance of being domestic champions is something neither are being guarenteed at the minute, it would be too good an oppertunity to resist.
2- Your departure list is the most ambitious thing i've seen since us signing Bebe and assuming he's some kind of new Ronaldo, Obertan for 7 million???, it would cost us that to persuade someone to take him, as 89cruefan2 said he will definitely go out on loan, Gibson will leave for between 1-5 million, his contract is due up in 2012 and so only one year left, Carrick won't leave after his new contract unless a decent offer or part exchange deal is in the offing, Macheda will probably leave, after Rossi was sold so young; Macheda is certainly not immune from the chop
Here's what i would do
Reina £15-20m- Neuer, De Gea, Stekelenburg etc are too bigger gambles at the same price, a prem experienced goalkeeper would be better, plus the chance of pi.ssing the scousers of is a nice bonus.
Adam £12m- He is a grafter, he would be perfect here, hs set pieces will benefit us, he will score goals and again has Premiership pedigree
A World Star Central Midfielder £30-50m- Modric/Sneijder/Schweinsteiger/Ribery/Ozil etc, anyone who has played in the champions league, has star quality and experience and is more importantly a big name for big money, as much as it shouldn't be the way, every now and again a team needs an injection of fantasy, Chelsea got Torres, Liverpool got Carroll, City get everyone, we cannot shy away from signings like this, plus we need someone we can look to in a crisis and rely on, just like Ronaldo, we need our version of Gerrard, Lampard and Fabregas
Bale £40m- Doesn't need explaining, we need a new Giggs simple as, he may more likely be signed in 2012 when Giggs retires
I'd also be tempted to add a goalscoring striker, maybe older similar to RVN, Berba and Rooney are too similar and don't score consistantly enough, Berba is top scorer but they have nearly all come through braces, hattricks etc, we need a goal a game man, either this or PLAY OWEN MORE!!!
Kuszczak- Not going to be a number 1 here but is too good to be number 2
Brown- Sentimentality is all thats keeping him here, Sunday proved he is 5th choice in a position that O'Shea can also cover
Gibson- At 23 lets face it he has tried and failed to make it end of
Obertan and Bebe- Will almost certainly both go out on loan, but they should be sold, there is always signs of talent even in poor starting players (take Berbatov), these two make a conference sides full backs look like Dani Alves and Ashley Cole
Hargreaves- Sadly he isn't going to make it back
Scholes- Will almot certainly retire, he isn't putting in his required shift at the minute, he knows this and being the legend that he is, he is too proud to carry on without making a decent influence on the team, he may either retire or play a season for Oldham
Welbeck- Again not an out and out striker very similar to Rooney, and with Sunderland willing to pay close to £10m, great deal for us
2 RAFAEL 12 SMALLING 15 VIDIC 3 EVRA
17 NANI WORLD CLASS MIDFIELDER 6 ADAM 19 BALE
10 ROONEY 7 OWEN (14 HERNANDEZ IF HE LEAVES)
- ||Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra|| -
- ||Valencia - Anderson - Modric - Nani|| -
- ||Rooney - Hernandez (Berbatov)|| -
This should be a brilliant lineup!
Then, all we need is Neuer and Modric... Hopefully Sir Alex will bring them to Old Trafford.
Already several dozen threads doing the exact same thing.........just page forward and add your list to one of those
1) Schweinsteiger WOULDNT move to OT, move on... If he WANTED to move to OT then he WOULDNT have renewed and commited to Bayern. Also a higher fee then £32 million
2) Sneijder the same as above... He has commited to Inter, wouldnt happen.
3) Bale WONT move for £30 million... It will take £40 million + to try get him
4) Carrick has renewed so he he WONT be leaving.
5) Gibson IIRC will leave on a free due to his contract running out in the summer.
6) Macheda wont leave, Fergie sees a lot in him. He will only leave if he wants to... but Macheda has stated he wants to come back and stay at United.
7) Obertan will no doubt be loaned and then a decision made after the loan move.
