Scholes My Lad:
NO. Money takes away the spirit of football. Look at all our best players - Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Brown, Beckham, All of these came through the ranks at Old trafford, and not just brought when there was the first glimse of talent.
That's spot on!
Brown one of our best players? What about Evra, Vidic, Nani, Anderson, Ronaldo, VdS, Schmeichel, Cantona, Tevez, Rooney, RvN, Solskjaer, Hargraeves, Carrick, Ferdinand, York, Cole, Sheringham etc. etc?¨
The best players are brought in to the club but hopefully can we bring up players from our own ranks that are more than just to fill up the squad with decent back-up players (like Brown, Fletcher, O'Shea, Foster etc.).
But you are right that money takes the spirit away, hopefully we can continue to bring in young talents (like we have done with Possebon, Silva*2, Petrucci, Anderson etc.) so there is time for them to develope a true United heart (that a 27 year old Berbatov never will have the time for). Mercenaries are for Chelski, but the best players are still almost always bought, in one way or another.
