Re: Lindergaard - "I would rather win 1-0 than 10-1"

For me it`s 10-1 anytime. The goal difference between us and city is frightening.

I think it's been instilled by Fergie on them to cherish hard earned 1-0 wins. Afterall, which fan will mind when we win all games 1-0 to premier league glory, FA and CL cups?

Selfish? A win is a win plus he gets a clean sheet. A clean sheet to most goal keepers is like a goal to a striker. As a GOAL KEEPER he'd be pretty silly to say that he'd be happy to concede at ANY time.
I know, but common, you would honestly rather see us win 1-0 than 10-1??!!!
same logic with going to school and passing the examinations LOL ... "I'd rather score 51/100 than score 90/100 or 95/100 ... etc etc ... as long as I pass" LOL
    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
another example LOL ... instead of making $2 or $3 or $4 in Profit (in Busniess) ... "Im content with making only $1 ... its a GOOD Business ... LOL"
Poor examples, what would be more accurate is, 1. Does it matter how much i score in an exam as long as i get an A? 2. Would you rather run a business that was in debt, or one which was free of debt(unlikely), even if the former would yield SLIGHTLY (goal difference is hardly ever the deciding factor in the league title) higher profits. Moving on, this is PURELY MY OWN PREFERENCE, but I prefer a game where both sides have a chance of win the game, as long as at the end, we come out on top. That's what makes the game interesting isn't it, and one of the reasons why I'm a man utd fan. I mean, if we won 10-0 every game, where's the excitement? the drama? If we won every game easily, then football would be much less interesting to watch, wouldn't it? If every game the opposition are literally guaranteed to lose. I want us to win the league as much as the next man utd fan, but not easily like Barca, but in a competitive and exciting league like the EPL. And what Lindergaard has said is correct. If you look at it from HIS perspective, it is justified for him to prefer a 1-0 than a 10-1, because it would mean that he's done a fantastic job, compared to a 10-1 where the team dominates the entire game and still manages to let in a goal, in other words, he's done a poor job. So yes, he is correct so don't find ways to fault him thanks.

selfish..wanna promote himself as if he is the best compared to david. except benfica, all games he played was the easy one...thats why he always got cleansheet...hahah***
why cant you just support the club rather than a player? lindegaard is also a MUFC player goddamn support him
Well, if he were a real team player, he would be able to sacrifice a clean. in other for us to win by a wider margin.
i feel he wants to show he is a better goalie and wants the no.1...however i feel more secure when david play..and our backline seems more comfortable & at ease with him.

lindegaard, you are a good goalie, lucky we have you, but theres no doubt david is the no.1 for us.

i prefer an interesting games rather than dull 1-0 scorelines.

    Negative Creep:
What he is saying is that he would prefer a clean sheet than any other result. And what is wrong with that? Every keep does and should like a clean sheet more than anything else.

Can't believe some of the posters on here...do you guys have any brains?

well ... if you think the same ... I can understand the Intelligence Part ... I would have said ... "I would rather win 1-0 than 3-1 or 4-1" LOL

what a load of bull, so he should be happy to concede if we win 2-1, 3-1 whatever, end of the day it's 3 points and all defence's no matter what league or standard they play at THRIVE at keeping clean sheets.

Re: Lindergaard - "I would rather win 1-0 than 10-1"

To the people who are criticising for preferring a 1-0 win to a 10-1 win, it hs his preference and it would be criminal if he says he could accept conceding a goal. His job is not to concede any goal. period. It is the job of others to score. So he has to do his job which is a clean sheet. He is not asking for the fans opinion but expressing his opinion and rightly so he wants to keep a clean sheet.

Sorry Anders, but I would take a 10-1 win in a heartbeat. Football is about entertainment and winning 1-0 while putting us to sleep does not make for enjoying viewing. When we look back at the end of the season we want to remember some great goals and great moments from a title winning team, not lacklustre, dull matches were we scraped a win, because thats what Manchester United is about.
