but I agree with his point about the youngsters!
If they are not ready yet, their not ready!

The ones that are ready will learn from this and come back stronger.

You cant just adopt the United winning mentality. Its earnt, its developed. It takes time to build great teams.

You need to experience failure to truly appreciate success.

Go back to the 1994-1995 Season. We had a great team, Hughes, Ince, Kanchelskis, Cantona, etc, but it was also the breakthrough season for the likes of Beckham, Nevilles, Butt, Scholes (Giggsys came a couple of season earlier), yet we finished the season with nothing!

We were in the Champions League, we finished 3rd in our group behind group winners Gothenberg and Barcelona.

We finished 2nd in the league behind big-spending Blackburn Rovers

We also lost the FA Cup Final to Everton. We won nothing (bar the Charity Shild).

We currently have a group of players of a very similar age to that class of '92 that eventually helped us bring amazing success to this club. I dont think it could have been achieved without the experience of losing. How it feels to lose, and how much it means to win.

These current players will now know how that feels. They will learn, they will grow and they will be better players becuase of this experience.

Rome wasnt built in a day, the current Barca team wasnt built in a day, the great Milan, Juventus, Madrid, Ajax and United teams of the past wernt built in a day.

This season may feel like 1 step back, just as the 94-95 season did, but the 95-96 season? We won the double. Thats the 2 steps forward!

Failures in the 97 & 98 Champions League (and 98 PL) may have felt like a step back, but everyone knows what happened in 1999, dont they! Thats was the two steps forward!

    Our time will come again!

Very, very good post there buddy. Spoke from both the heart and more importantly the brain. Hats off!

one step back, two steps forward

The situation is very different now despite the parallels you have pointed out here, I don't blame the debt we have anymore, And I don't see how anyone can after the last transfer window. The Glazers provided 50m pounds for transfers, In fact they have provided money down through the years. I blame the manager for not using the money provided in the right ways at the right times. Anderson 20m, Carrick 18m, Berbatov 30m. I think his decision making has cost our team, Holding on to average players like Evans, Gibson, Anderson, Carrick for far too long and continuing to re-new their contracts because either he has deluded himself into think they are good enough or he is lost for ideas and reluctant to take action in the Transfer market. Any blind man in the street could see that we were going to struggle his season with Scholes gone and not one real quality midfielder in the team. Even the smallest coaches know that a football team has to be built around a solid midfield. He obviously wasn't banking on the youth to come on this season. All he has give them is bit-parts in Carling cup games. He has never given them a real opportunity. Instead he has given them a slap in the face by continuing to bring Gibson to games instead of them, How much faith is that? In conclusion I will say this. Ferguson needs to either put the youth into the Premier League matches and ditch the usell midfield or he need so buy 2 midfielders in January. Thing cannot stay as they are. If he is not prepared to make change then he should step down for the good of Manchester United
