Pijo:
Captain Marvel No.7:just seems you get shot down on this board by many for even daring to believe there's a player out there better than the ones we have.
Shot down? I assume by this you mean providing a contrasting opinion, based on fact and with supporting evidence? I have shown you with statistical evidence that the difference between the two is negligible, but apparently I'm being unreasonable to try and actually back up my claims, rather than just personal preference.
You didn't answer my question either, and I'd love to hear an answer; what more could Young have done to meet your expectations? Give me a ball park figure for the number of assists and goals that you think would have been acceptable.
Who gives a stuff about stats? My opinion is based on what i've seen with my very own eyes and to date Mata is proving to be a far better player.
Wonder what stats you'd be throwing at me had Mata joined United and Young went to Chelsea? Its speculation of course but fact is Mata joined a team who arent nearly as good as we are and still he's looked a far better player, far better. Just think, had he gone to a team with better players around him lets just say he'd be blowing Young's "stats" out of the water right now.
As for answering your question, if Young would have had the equivalent impact on United that Mata has had at Chelsea then maybe, just maybe he'd of met my expectations. Mata's overall performances have been way better, especially given Young is English, more experienced and a proven Premier League player. Thats why i feel he has struggled to justify the outlay on him atm.
That's not to say he wont ever justify it but right now Mata looks by far the better signing of the two IMO.
