sorry mate,cant agree with that,,micky phelan was one of SAF"s first sighnings,he was a pretty tough midfielder,worked hard for us,he"s remained totally loyal to him since his tenure began,that stands high in SAF"s books,knows us inside out,we are still champions after all,,how many he got now??????

YES!! finally someone agrees that Mike Phelan is not fit as SAF's number 2!! i say bring in Ole Gunner and set him up to take over from SAF when he retires! we already know he's a great coach and his worked with the youth thats coming through now such as Cleverly,Welbeck,Pogba and King! and Ole has also go on to win the Norwegian League with molde! quality guy who knows the club so well and also SAF respects him as a player and a person like wise with Ole to SAF! i also like the though of Ray Wilkins but i think he's looking at a managers role instead of a coach!....who knows maybe he'll become the new England manager if Harry turns it down!?

Couldn't agree with you more. Phelan has shown that many times this season! Don't know why SAF keep him around...? Anyways, Ray Wilkins would be the obvious choice for me. He's got what it takes to be an excellent assistant. Plus, he is a sympathetic fella.

It was simple. Bilbao wanted it more, they are 6th or 7th in their domestic table, haven't won a trophy since 1984, they had more desire. Not taking anything away from them but league is our priority.

Yes have to agree with you on this. I don't want to sound negative but I do feel that as a team our football is erratic and that has to be down to coaching. When you look at Bilbao over the two games they were far more organised and structured. The most worrying thing for me is, that there didn't seem to be commitment shown by our players, apart from Rooney, Evans, Rio and De Gea, the rest seemed to accept that we were on a loser.

Never afraid to admit when we've been beaten by the better team and that certainly happened over the course of the two legs. Just want to say what a credit to football Atheltic Bilbao are; a good team with an excellent mentality, backed up by some of the best supporters I've known. Not only the atmosphere, but the way in which they applauded Giggs and Rooney's goal was something to admire. Now unlike everybody else, I'm not calling for wholesale changes, it's been a disappointment - but we've had plenty of those in the past, the main thing is to learn from it. There is one change that needs to be made however - we need a decent No.2.
