FIrgie is one of the great tacticians , his priority was prem league . so he didnt play scholes , welback , valencia etc. Startin with PARK in the CM postion itself showed that the tactic was to loose the game .
certainly the priority is the EPL .. thats why he took out Rio, Giggs, Carrick to rest them.. if we were going for it he would've brought in A LOT more firepower rather than taking them out!

The last time we won the CL, we had a great tactiction as the assistant manager (Quirez (dunno how to spell his name)) , he made us play in a 4-3-3 formation.

Not sure i agree that fergie set out to lose and he often calls on Park for the big games due to his energy levels. Especially after seeing how badly bossed we were in midfield in the 1st leg. What annoyed me most was the lack of fire power on the pitch when in desperate need for goals. Hernandez didn't even make it off the bench.

As my title said, Tactics, Formation and Style of Playing is more important than what players that we have. Can you say that all Bilbao players are better than MU players? Defnitely not. So why they play better against MU players? Because of the tactics and their system. If today, Bielsa managed MU and Fergie managed Bilbao, the victory will go to MU as Bielsa tactics is better. No matter whom we bought, Ronaldo Messi Hazard Sneijder Huntelaar Robben Ribery, anyone, MU won't be playing good. Fergie brings stability and consistency to MU in his reign. However recent years, MU style of play and system is predictable, easily defended and lack of creativity. I don't mean for Fergie to leave, but he needs to give his players more freedom to use their own creativity and change the philosophy. We all know nothing more than Fergie, he knows MU the best. But as we know, changes have to be made to improve the overall situation.
I totaly agree with you. But let's call a sped a sped Fergie's time is over and should go now. Our players are good but Fergie has lost the grip, he lacks ideas and creativity. OT was a fort where we hardly lost games but now a days we are now beaten every after a while including City 6 -1 , Blackburn rovers 2-1, Ajax 2-1, Bilbao 3-2 and this now seems to be our trend. To came back to your point Fergie sold players like Oshea, Orbatan, Luis Saha, Bradley, Tosic, Cambell etc but all of them have now turn out to be better players than the ones we have right. Also see the performance of Ashely Young at Villa was a better than he is now at UTD, Cleverely at Wiggan was also better but it is coming very dificult for him to perform now. Not to forget the big money buy Berbatov when he was in Bundisliga and Spurs he was world class that's why we paid £30m but now he is rated fourth in the rank of strikers. Hernandez was more effective in his first yera than now he is definately going below. The performance of Rooney 3-5 years ago was almost at the same level with that of Cristian Ronaldo and Messi see where is going now. For example last night it is luck that he scored a consolation goal otherwise Rooney he was poor throught the game. I think the altitude of Fergie that the team of Rio Giggs and Scholes will still bring honours to the club is proved wrong.

Your right there mate. Manchester United Football Club need to regroup and re-think there startegy. The current generation and crop of players in world football are more technically gifted than they were ever before. United must re-think there playing style and how they are going to approach europe aswel. No doubt we ourselves have a crop of technically gifted players comething through i.e. cleverly, pogba and that andreas peirrera kid thats going to join us not to mention that daelhi kid and januzaj so we do have a small pool of technically gifted players there but itd be a few years when we reap dividends. Only wa Manchester United Football Club are going to reap dividends is by changing there style of Play and what would suit this current crop of kids coming through. There is nothing wrong with our traditional wing play but that only came together for one man back then Scholeseyy and a few other. Its something we need to think about and also were the impetus for these talents are. Ideally i beleive we should bring in a assistant manager whos ideas are modern. I reckin we should bring in AVB as assistant and a spanish coach. United have the resources but theres always room for improvment.
1958 Manchester Uniteds place in sporting history is assured Avec theres no doubt
