Play the full 90+ minutes the same way we played the first 15 minutes of our previous two finals against Barca.
I agree with that as i always feel barca are slow starters to most games, if we could get a goal early on and really set up defencively then we could win it. I think us winning them is very much down to us psychologically, we have lost to them twice and they are named the best team in the world. I think our players dont no how to handle them and make stupid mistakes, when we get the ball it feels we want to get rid of it as soon as we have it which isnt our style of play. The next time we meet i hope we start paul scholes( if he hasnt retired) as when he came on last year he looked so composed on the ball and relaxed you could of mistaked him for having a kick about in the park. Scholes doesnt change his style of play for any team and this serves him well, he relies on his skill and this is what more of our team need to do in order to win against them.
They have been always slow starters, even before Pep G. I remember in 2008 semi final, we played the first leg in their stadium and within two minutes, we had a penalty which missed by CR. We played a big match till about 20 mins then we gave up the lead till the end of the match. The difference at that time, in both legs was, Scholes in addition to Owen H. Despite all their attacks, we had coverage. I was afraid of W Brown (I have to say), but having Scholes and Carrick (first leg) closing the gap between midfield and defence. The two finals we lost against them was due to the fact that we didn't have holding midfielder. Unless we bring a real one that can replace Scholes, I don't think we can beat them.

buy midfielders who are comfortable on the ball , vidic is a must, solidfy our defence, work on our set pieces, work on our counter attack and hope messi has a bad game

It is all about developing chemistry. The only way to do that is have the same group play together week in week out. I´m not referring to only 11 players I´m talking about a squad like we have full of young, talented, potentially outstanding players getting the games without all of the injury interruptions. That´s how Barca got where they are why can´t we? We have every bit as much talent as they do we just lack the chemistry and that only comes with experience and familiarity. Just ask Giggs, Scholes and SAF and if you don´t believe them go ask Guardiola, Messi, Xavi and Iniesta.

The most obvious way would be to score more goals then them. Pretty simple really lol.

We need to stay organized and be extremely strong defensively. We need to be able to pressure Barcelona.

I think the problem lies with the coaching in this country. If our esteemed leaders had their way we would still be running round with knee length baggy shorts and kicking heavy laced up casey balls. We are so resistent to change it is laughable. We must be the only country that still believes in the big centre forward and the lumbering centre-half. Hoof the ball up the pitch and hope for the best. Dribbling? That's for namby-pamby Johnny Foreigner. There'll be none of that from our boys, thank you. And if that means we go down 10-0 so be it, at least we will still have shown that good old British gumption.

Better talent. Barcelona's myth is that Xavi and Iniesta control the game and WIN because of it. not true to a degree. They may hold possession, but for goals and cutting INSIDE the defense they depend much more on LIONel Messi. Xavi will age, so maybe in 5 years we'll have that advantage. Messi is just growing and growing though. As I've watched games like Argentina vs Bolivia, Messi was not able to cut the defense due to extreme marking on him. In Barcelona its much harder to mark him, so wether thats avoided I understand that decision. Better Wing-Backs as well. We have Valencia which can link up with any wing-back, thus he HIMSELF can serve as one. Thus breaking the defensive position. And I will conclude how I started, better talent.

Re: How do we beat Barca?

first of all there not unbeatable far from it, infact i don't think they'll win th campions lge this year it i'll be bayern or madrid but anyway when we've got the ball keep it try and play them at there own game because no matter how good they are they can't score if they haven't got the ball, two soild banks of four when they have the ball contain them then hit them on the counter attack with pace and power which were brilliant at also i think we could have won one if not both the finals we played them in if we had scored the first goal which is vital against them i think it would leave gaps in there defence which we could expoilt in quick counter attacking play as they push more men foward. one last thing the next time we face them i thik it to be in a 2 legged tie instead of the final to see if we fare any better imo i think we would there away form isn't any were near as good as there home form

Let Rafael/Rooney break Messi's legs at the first 5 minutes. Win the game!

Spot On. Were going to get there eventually. The start of the season was evident. Remember the rebuilding process hasnt finish and SAF is building an Ultra Attacking Fast Team which is very young having to say the least. The next few phases would be very interesting as there is going to be more technicality and creativity sprinkled onto the team.
1958 Manchester Uniteds place in sporting history is assured Avec theres no doubt
