Scholes is english, Gotze is German - their mentality is different. Secondly, alot of people say Rooney has the qualities to play in cm and we tried him there. But why would we do that? We nearly ruined him. No point in taking a very good attacking midfielder and putting the shackles on him and ruining him too

I am a great admirer of Goetze but I dont think he is a replacement for Scholes. Their way is different. BUt He certainly bring some thing extra in the squa for sure if we can get him, BUt he is way too expensive.

Pogba is gonna be a long term replacement for Scholes(if he stays of course and i hope he does ^^).they don't have exactly the same style of play but they are quite similar in the way that Pogba has a very good range of passing,can dictate the tempo and is very calm on the ball. what we need is a DM to play alongside Pogba or Cleverley or both and my first choice would be someone like Martinez or Ever Banega.

When will idiots realise the difference between CAMS and certain players capable of playing in a two man midfield. its the same shite we got with Sneijder "oh he can convert, hes good enough". Only for his manager to come out and say that hes not good enough to play 2 man midfield.

Fine. His movement is too direct, his ability to find space and pick the right pass isn't there, he doesn't stay static enough and is always looking to go forward. He'd be far better in Rooney or Nanis left hand side role.

To be a small midfielder you need to work space, to be open for a pass, to move the ball on quickly and to be able to dictate tempo you also need a pass success rate of over 88 percent. You have active runners who pivot round you. Its why Giggs is such a terrible centre midfielder. There is no point in taking players better suited to the hectic role of an attacker and sit him in a slower role, its a completely different skill set.

I don't think Gotze will leave Dortmund tbh.

Anyway theorectically he could be converted but I see no point to this he isn't a CM and trying to convert him to one will take so much out of his game. It would just be easier and probably cheaper to get a natural CM who can slot straight in, look at Ando we tried to convert him to a CM and look how that worked out.

look its pretty simple really why dont we just sign modric who is at his best in a 2 man midfield has proved he can hack it in the prem is a brilliant passer and at 26 fits into our transfer policy ok he will be expensive but so will all the other names mentioned i dont think we should sign goetze on the chance that he mite be able to play a different position
