Re: are they good than Berbatov

work rate? You have to be kidding me. United has never, ever, ever played uglier football!!! I don't care about the 1-0 wins, nor the title, I want to watch beautiful football and Hernandez and Welbeck don't come even close to what the Berba-Rooney-Nani-Valencia partnership brought. Just for the record - with that kind of "fast forward attackers" we got out of all the tournaments in Europe...

Welbeck being able to hold the ball up and play flicks, yet has more speed and work rate than Berba...sealed Berba's fate. Hernandez is deadlier/younger/quicker inside the 18. Rooney is going nowhere, hard to find Berba minutes even when he is deserving. Berbatov is still good in my eyes and will be missed. I'm thankful for his professionalism unlike Tevez which shows that SAF made the right decision.
Young people surprise you when they are given the opportunity SAF

come on...the guy has a point...chicha and welbeck are struggling for the form they were in for the last couple of months and they are missing simple chances and berba is still a loved united player and he will play with full heart for us so i don`t see any reason against playing him against QPR.

This Blacburn is a myth. Berbatov put in Valencia brilliantly with only the keeper to beat and this was the most clear cut chance of the game yet some people blame it on Berbatov for not scoring. When the team wins it is as if there is no contribution from Berbatov. When we lose it is all Berbatov's fault.
You mean you saw Gary Neville show that ONE highlight on skysports tonight. I suggest you watch the entire 90 minutes of that game

Yes both younger than Berbatov, but neither is better than him. We should buy a world class striker this summer if we want to conquer the world, otherwise if Rooney get injured we will be in hell of trouble.

My only point is if you are going to buy a 30M striker then build the team around him.
    We did, Rooney.

berba has missed 42 out of utd 65 so called big games.
    wonder why?
    JBHunt:
nothing like seeing chicha dribble the ball off his legs a few times last monday.
nothing like seeing your idol miss one on one with the keeper and then "at full stretch" my but t two yards from goal no keeper in one of those big games for our loved neighboors to go on to end their dry spell huh!
    JBHunt:
but there is no point of debating berba. he is gone.
yet you keep coming back to debate this point and even slating a player that is staying with us and good or bad, but leaves all he's got on the pitch. That my friend is called hipocresy or fanboyism.

Another Berba thread. Like most of you said,it's surprising how some people do not read news or do a little research about the club they love before asking repetitive questions. Do they read the manager's Friday press conference? most of the time, Sir Alex touches on everything, including injuries, Beebatov etc. @ISSYNAZAR, you have pretty much summed it up. Chicha & Welbeck are part of United's future.

Re: are they good than Berbatov

There are two sides to the Berbatov story. 1) Himself, of course he's done some terrific things but too many times when we were lacking someone like Wayne Rooney and needed a big-hitter to lead the line, he went missing/missed big big chances. He may have all the technique and elegance when it comes to doing things with a ball, but for a £30m investment how many games has he scored that crucial goal when we've needed him? You look at Hernandez last season...I believe without his goals we are 13 or 14 points worse off, and without Berbatov's it was around 9 points worse off. That's a comparison with a young Mexican lad playing his first season in this league against a player who was regarded as the replacement for a misfiring Wayne Rooney.

    2) Sir Alex Ferguson and the club. I don't think Sir Alex has ever really trusted Berbatov and the question I pose is why has he been here for nearly 4 years? He was shocking in his second season here, he looked out of place and well out of his comfort zone and I truly believe at this point the club should've cut their losses. We didn't, it's 2012 and Berbatov is part of the squad but never plays.

It's truly a two way thing. At this moment in time, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are well ahead and deservedly so. Both players are on the learning curve, and for the future of the club surely anyone with a functioning brain can see that it's logical to give them the torch.

Mate, no disrespect, but this is a complete tosh... Look up his goal ratios in the last two seasons - that is whenever he got the chances to play - and then talk about "delivering" :-)
You mean thrashing poor sides, he delivered them in the truck load.
That as well - on top of some others... When it was needed and he was called - he did. So United got to 19 !
Please tell me your not suggesting than we won the 19th title because of Berbatov?
Last time I checked, football was still a team game - so I gues you can smell what I'm dropin' in. Nevertheless, Berbatov was instrumental in winning the 19th title with his goals in key games - no need to unearth these stats again - and whoever denies that, is simply living in denial.
Oh I can smell it alright...Big steaming pile of bull. He played his part yes but don't kid yourself into thinking he was a key component in the 19th title because as you put it "Simply living in denial"
I agree Scholes is the man, Berbatov was not the key component in the 19th league title.
You may also agree that snow is black, which would not necessary mean that it's true...
