    Hard to cast vote as to who has stood out all season but based on consistency i'd say Rooney, started the season in magnificant form had a blips and he's hardly been injured

    Scholes has to be our player of the year. Even though he only came back during the Christmas period. Prior to Scholes returning Utd were knocked out of Europe and suffered defeats against City at Old Tratford, Blackburn and Newcastle and were trailing City by a good bit in the league. Since Scholes came back, Utd have only lost one match and drew another in the league. Still; Utd did lose in the F.A cup and the Europa league. Well in the F.A. Cup against liverpool Utd were on top until the point Scholes was Substituted and then Utd lost the match. Utd lost both home and away against Athletico Bilbao. But in each of those matches Scholes didn't play. In the Chelsea match where Utd came back from 3-0 down, Scholes came on and steadied the ship and Utd went on to draw the match 3-3. Last Wednesday, Scholes again wasn't present and Utd lost away to Wigan. The stats speak for themselves. Utd simply wouldn't be in the running for the league was it not for Paul Scholes. He sorted out the mess that was midfield and pulled the team back into the title race. Utd are a better team once Scholes is playing. You can put anyone alongside him and he makes them play better. Once Scholes isn't playing Utd's possession percentage goes way down. If you don't have the ball you can't score. Scholes has been the only player at Utd capable of keeping the ball and creating attacking opportunities. Some players this season have been good but Scholes this season has given Utd the chance to win the league. He is not only player of the season at Utd but player of the season in the premier league. Paul Scholes wins leagues.
    Did you all just forget De Gea? He came from a totally different league, not fully developed had to settle in our first team straight away and filling in the boots of VDS !! He has a higher shots to saves ratio than any other keeper in the EPL! and he saved us a LOT of points this season, some games we should have been battered

    His influence has been massive in the title run in and we look weaker without him which is worrying. De Gea, Evans, Carrick and Valencia all worth a mention though. The progress made by De Gea and Evans has been extraordinary.

It is the Player of the Season and Scholes saved us from having a terrible season so, in my opinion, Scholes should win. If Scholes was not here, my vote would for either Jones or Carrick (they were both great and they've worked really hard the whole season).
    that was my thinking on it, I realize Paul was not here for the first 3-4 months of the season but if he hadn't come back then we'd not be in the position we are and for me that earns him player of the season. Paul saw we needed help at his old position, still had the desire, and pulled the trigger on returning and in so saving our season.

    I voted for Scholes too, Carrick,Evans didnt really come into form until late November or December anyway and the impact he has made is remarkable, so it was a no brainer for me

    He is the Player of the half season. Post December player of the season. Post Christmas player of the season. In no way he is the player of the season. Player of the season is only one man and he goes by the name Jonny Evans.

    I was leaning towards Scholes a lot, but figured De Gea has saved our a** many times and is the best prospect we've had this season. Rooney ,Valencia and Carrick were great candidates as well for me but my vote went for De Gea.

    The award is player of the SEASON. Whilst Scholesy has been very influential he has only played half a season. Valencia has been injured for the best part of the season. I believe that the award is between Evans, Carrick and Rooney. My vote is for Rooney who in many games has dragged us back into games and generally lifted the team. Rio and DeGea have played well after dodgy starts.

    Pijo you're making a good point too. It's probably a throw up between Rooney, Carrick and AV.

    There are lots of players this year who would be deserving winners, but I've been torn between Scholes and Valencia. Scholes has been fantastic since he came back, his break seems to have taken years off him. Then there is Valencia, to come back from an awful injury and just slot straight back in to the team as if he'd never missed a game was amazing. They both offer great passing skills and can make chances for their team mates out of nothing, add to that the fact they can both score great goals and it gets even harder to choose between them.

    I love having Scholes back, but I think for his contribution to the team since returning from injury it has to be Valencia for me.

    not for me i"m afraid to say,as good as he"s been since returning,it has to go to rooney,he"s been our main spearhead this season,his goals (in the main) have put us in this commanding position,his all round game has improved immensley,a constant threat,not to mention his diciplinary record,the fire is still there but he"s matured beyond belief,we are not the same side without him,he gets my vote,sorry....
