Re: Who are your players of the season at United?

    1. Valencia - Certainly our best this season 2. DDG - Outstanding saves all season, how about that one vs Chelsea 3. Scholes - Well, he got our season back on track 4. Rafael - I just love watching him, attack, brave heart, speed, combines well with Valencia 5. Rio - Evans has improved but i think Rio gives the stability. I still recall games where we played Evans/Jones or Evans/Smalling , Smalling /Jones ... I say hmmm

As far as I'm concerned everyone of them who pulled on a United shirt are players of the season - heroes everyone of them ----

    1. Rooney - For scoring many goals even if he is not playing at his best. 2. Valencia - For providing most of the assists down the left and giving us hope we will score. 3. Scholes - For bringing back balance in the midfield making Carrick look decent again. 4. Rafael - For his hard work and owning the right back position, we need not hunt at all. 5. Welbeck - Since Chicharito's deep in form, he has been the reliable altenative and offers so much more.

My players of the season in order would be:

    1. Valencia

    2. Rooney

    3. Evans

    4. Carrick

    5. Scholes (would be higher but only played half the season)

Other players that have played well would be De Gea, Rio, Welbeck. Let me know what you think.

    1. Evans, 2. Carrick, 3, Valencia, 4.Scholes, 5. D Gea Evans simply because he had to step up to the plate this year with Vidi out and he has done that, so at the least he has to be most improved player. Carrick deserves to be up there and desevers a mention, Scholes only half a season so for me not quite there at No:1 as for Rooney, sorry guys but he is not firing at 110% and has not been for some time, but! a 80% Rooney on most occasions is better than no Rooney.

Re: Who are your players of the season at United?

I agree with all the names being listed here, in their varying orders, but im going to go with players that have showed most improvement and that i was most pleased to see performing at the level at which they have been. 1. Jonny Evans 2. David de Gea 3. Rafael Im glad evans has been getting the credit he deserves this season. The injury to Vidic has really allowed him to make a starting position his own. hope he continues to improve

I'm surprised there's little mention of DDG! The kid has simply been amazing since AL got injured. However, for me the answer would have to be SAF (I know he's not a player) lol. This season could have easily turned into one of those Arsenal-is-rebuilding years and honestly no one would have been able to complain much (besides us insatiable supporters of course) because we have a very young core to our team. I think this year has been all about how this manager can steer this football club into staying at the top despite so many setbacks and heartbreak, He is simply one of a kind and I shudder to think what we will do without him

Scholes above all others, may only be a short period, but without his return we would simply not be in with a chance of winning our 20th title.

Followed by Valencia who also made a huge impact on our form since his return from injury.

Not Rooney unless he picks his form up, despite his goals he has still underperformed overall, and not Evans or Carrick as they are at last simply performing as they should have been all along but hadn't.

Agree with you but without Rooney's goals where would we be? Scholes has made a huge impact but although Rooney has had an off few weeks his form has been good most of the season.

Yes I don't discount Rooney's goals at all, was just looking at IMO which player/s had made the most significant impact, as much as one player can in a team game.

Rooney, Carrick and Evans have all been good. Evans has thankfully found the form which for a long time had been lacking, and Carrick although good cannot take control of a match and dictate play, think both those players are showing form that they should have anyway.

The stand out difference for me, just my view, has been the impact of Scholes and Valencia.

Yeah agreed mate. I see where you are coming from. What's great is if someone had told me at the end of the season that Scholes, Evans and Carrick would be our stand out performers i wouldn't have believed you. Just shows you what experience does and how much Carrick and Evans have stepped up. Valencia too.

Just have to keep it all up for few more games!

Think overall it shows how important it will be for future success to strengthen central midfield this summer.

It's his job to score goals. Where would we be without Johnny's tackles? De Gea's saves? or Valencia's runs? It's a poor way to choose player of the season this.
Yeah i agree but its also Scholes job to pass the ball and dictate which he has done ridiculously well. Rooney has scored goals ridiculously well. If you look at it like that then you can't really pick one can you?
