Re: City v United Official Match Tracker thread

yes we just have to win our remaining matches, and to score more goals as well.but to do that we need not to be afraid of anyone from now onwards we do not have to concede goals but just to score,so its attack and defend at the same time.

We can be optimistic but to save our emotions lets concede we have lost the title to City.

    Manchester Derby

I'd love to know his thinking behind leaving out our best player of 2012 Valencia, and playing poor Park whos not kicked a ball in 3 months,Carrick gave his all in midfiled with no help, Rooney was totally lost alone up top Sorry but The manager got the midfield and forward line so worry it was untrue, soon as I saw the team line up my heart sank. Only a miracle by Newcastle can let us back in and having watched the Wigan game at the weekend only the lord himself can help us

worst team sellection & worst prerfomance

i am a true Man Utd fan. the team sellection against city match was very poor . wellback, young, valencia all three inform players were on the bench. inclusion of park, gigs was a mistake. I dont Know why SAF experimenting the big match like this. i think we must use our young bloods like pogba, cleverly etc.

Anyone missing Berbatov yet? Wait for next season - it would be even more obvious!
*lol*... we missed Gibson more than Berbatov. So it will be a nervous summer for you... not yet knowing which team you will "support" next season...

It's getting the balance right between knowing what is obvious due to hindsight and what we were really all thinking before the game. No one doubts Fergie, if they do then there is something wrong with them, but it's crazy to say he always picks the right team. Fergie didn't pick the right team last night. He is guilty of setting up defensive formations which don't complement our way of playing and show too much respect to the opposition. Rooney might aswell be Ngog upfront on his own. Giggs, Scholes and Carrick in the middle? All the experince in the world but no pace, no tenacity, no strength. Two of the best, most in form wingers in the world right now, Valencia and Young, so let's leave them on the bench!?!? I admit, I was happy to see Park starting, but what an error in judgement from Fergie, he was off the pace, and understandably considering his lack of match practice. I understand it's hard to know until you try a player in a match (and fair enough, Park could just have easily scored the winner, making it the best selection ever) but this is a manager's job to know who is right for what occassion. I have ALWAYS said, we are 4-4-2 team. I don't think there is any team or occassion in the world that we need to line up any differently against. Attack is defense. I said we needed to score last night, because I couldn't see a clean sheet. Rafael had a hard time against Everton, fair enough I can understand him sitting this one out, but that's just another attacking threat that we didn't have! Our experience in title challenges should have given us the edge over City, but unfortunately some poor selections, and some complacency (Everton) means it's now In City's hands. There is still hope. Thanks god he didn't play - otherwise today's "board" would be crammed with topics asking for his head :-) Well, anyways - he is a gonner - not United quality, not fitting the fast attacking United football we saw last night ... What a sh-it-load of rubbish....

I honestly don't understand half of the so called "fans" on this forum. Let be realistic for once. Sir Alex is the greatest thing to have come out of British football if not world football. You do NOT lose your talent, judgement and reading of the game over night, so saying he has lost it is rubbish. Had he lost it last season when the same words were used on the forum back then, no, we won the tittle and a big pat on the back for Sir Alex. So what is different now. Sir Alex watches the players inside and out every day. How often do these fans that cast judgement over his tactics and selection choices watch them?? please anyone..... yes once a week for 90 mins, brilliant! you should be making the step up to the EPL next week i suppose?? Sir Alex has picked the right team every week for the last 25 years, yes you win some and you lose some. "Sir Alex should/should've bought this person, that person. When was the last time you read through Man Utd end of year figures?? and I don't mean the rubbish ones that get published in the papers. I mean the ins and outs of transfer fees, the cost of maintaining a club with huge debts, ground staff fees, etc? Where Is Sir Alex going to get this kind of money from £35m for him, a £40m buy out clause for him etc. If the club doesn't have money to spend then how can he spend it. If your next statement is "well Sir Alex and David Gill bith have said there are fees to spend" then you are seriously gullible, this is done to sell season tickets and to get bums on the seats, it is done all over the world in every sport you can think of. Lastly and most importantly, Man City have spent how much money???? they have one of the best starting X1 in the world - FACT!! If we were in the same league as Barca, would we expect to be winning the league, no! We can all see that we are lacking slightly behind Barca, im not afraid to admit that, that's just being realistic. Lets just realise that we are going to be fighting with Chity for many years to come. If they spend the same way they have been season upon season, then this gap is only going to get bigger and bigger, until the next rich man decides he wants to buy Wigan etc. We need to stick with the team we love and not look at the negatives. We have a young team that is only going to get better with age and experience. A new manager, a new set of player??!!! the grass isnt always greener, remember that. Anyway if we were to get rid of SAF then he would only be poached by chitty - not that he would go there, but who wouldnt want the greatest manger in the world. None of us know the team better than SAF, nor do we know the financial restrictions on the club better than SAF and David Gill, so get behind the team and stop pretending this is Champ manager. grow up and realise this is real life. Anyway im still in hope of a Rooney double hat-trick in both our last games, and plus a few from Johnny Evans (fantasy points :-) ) Chin up guys.

refreshing to see someone who is trying to see the bright side...love the part esp where you say" Sir Alex is the greatest thing to have come out of British football if not world football. You do NOT lose your talent, judgement and reading of the game over night, so saying he has lost it is rubbish. Had he lost it last season when the same words were used on the forum back then, no, we won the tittle and a big pat on the back for Sir Alex. So what is different now. Sir Alex has picked the right team every week for the last 25 years, yes you win some and you lose some."

however, we cant just ignore the negatives :)....we should try and be better everyday....the only way to do that is to try and make negatives positives :)

I dont care what you all say and what happened today..all i know is that we are going to defend our title...come 13th May we ll be on top of the pile...yes we lost today....yes yet again our tactics did not work out...its easy to say the tactics were wrong....remember the FA Cup win at Arsenal where the Da Silva twins played wingers...that worked well and we all call it a masterstroke...stop abusing Sir Alex and say that he has lost it blah blah...where is the United spriit?....you dare call yourselves United fans when its not all over yet...you lot should be ashamed of yourselves and not the team you "SUPPORT"!!!!
we don't blindly support in anything...sports, politics or even religion...Fergie's decisions affected our game and bringing on the silva twins was a brilliant move...he failed to do anything close to that today...he brought in a five man midfield that was proven ineffective even in the uefa games...the united spirit is still there and that is why this hurts more...we did not play as united today...we could have gone out there and attacked and even if we lost at least we would have gone down with a fight.

we shouldn't blindly make judgements either...nobody is perfect....wrong decisions maybe made....things dont work out how we expect them to....if you are calling for someone's head just because things didnt go right, its going to lead to further turmoil...the da silva twins move paid off...i for one dont see anything wrong with how we started out today....park is our big game player...he is going to be running around all the time, be it attack or defense....on the other wing - SAF had a choice between Valencia/Nani...Valencia - excellent form, amazing speed and strength...tracks back to help out the defense...Nani - flair, creative player...can produce that 1 moment of magic which can turn around a game....having opted for Park already, he chose Nani for that slight attacking edge he offers over Valencia....SAF had a vision...it did not work out

unfortunately there had to be a result...it was a battle of 2 tactics...rather than end in a stalemate, 1 of the tactics triumphed, which means the other had to loose...1 person cant be blamed for it all...the entire unit must bear this...

oh so all we need are two 6 goal wins?! Yeah right and if you believe that is really likely.

But what shouldnt happen at the same time is that we should give up completely....who knows...if we win our next 2 games by 6 goal margins and city scrape wins in both, we will still win the title...we dont have to wait for city to drop points...you never know whats going to happen...its important to be in the right mindset whether things work out or not...the next 2 games are going to show us exactly what we are made of....and I have confidence in our lads to pull it off and lift the trophy on May 13th

yes but the difference is we have to rely on other clubs now. If we would have won our fate would have been ours to decide. Now someone else will decide it.
