Re: How do we cope If City buy Modric and Hazard!!

agreed. They must have some crafty plan in place to be able to do it though....there is just no way they wont buy players. What about just taking the year ban from the UCL?/ Would they do that?. Like what the hell buy in now, break the rules, take the punishment. Nothing surprises me with them scumbags
Well I am not 100% sure when these regulations start properly... I am not sure if it is next season or the start of 13/14 season.

I have a feeling its the latter and therefore its giving teams a chance to sort out and make sure they can be a bit more selfsufficient.

I am not sure they would take a 1 year ban because the revenue they could lose out from that, they want to make as much money themselves over the next few years.

This summer for them it will be all about cutting down their wage bill, selling players and making the most of the revenue they have gained from the CL/Europa League this season.

Not to mention they would defensively be ripped to shreds... 1 holding mid player... who may i add likes to get forward too much... and all those attacking players.

not even Barca or Real could get away with playing something far too attacking

Toure single handidly was too much for our 3 midfielders last night, add that too Modric and Silva who's ball retention is incredible how is it a poor trio?. Their passing game and steel from Toure would easily be useable?
funny, why do I remember hearing "barry intercepts" and "won by barry" quite a bit if it was Toure single-handedly? city can pack as much stars as they want in their team, an unbalanced team will never beat united for the league once we sort out our midfield.

True....I guess If they want to get rid then they have to lower the for sale prices........If they sell enough of their driftwood I still think they would afford a couple of replacement players. If they sell about 7-8 players even slightly on the cheap that should be enough to free up wages and funds for their targets.....They are obviously going to buy in the summer. Lets face It they will be strengthening so they must have some plan in mind
I think the bottom line is City need to sell before they can buy

They want to meet the regulations set for FFP.

Therefore they have to sell the driftwood to free up wages and funds... Not because they need to financially.. but because it lowers 1) The % turnover their wages cover and 2) transfer fees add up onto making a loss as currently their wage bill is 115% of what they bring in..

So for City to use their own money to bring in players they must free up wages... getting rid of the driftwood could easily free up 20-25% of their wages currently

Their aim should be to get their wage bill % UNDER the 100% barrier... which is going to be hard work if they want to make signings this summer as well as getting rid of players.

and Rooney isnt a lone striker.....his best postiion is where you have placed Kagaw***
I know. But I honestly can't see us buying 2 midfielders unless we play a formaiton like this. I think we will stick to 4-4-1-1 =/
yeah agreed. Its a really hard one to call. We obvisouly have to build around Rooney but 4-4-2 although works for the most part is now NOT the formation to work against any big team throughout Europe. And If Rooney cant play as a lone striker then we are mullered tbh

i think they must be smart enough to know if they leave city they will get less wages from most other teams except psg and Anzhi. I dont see if johnson, Milner, Mario or Dzeko are up for sale there would be no suitors
I am not saying there wont be suitors, But who will be interested who can afford to pay the price?

If they cannot even manage to sell Michael Johnson, Adebayor, Santa Cruz and Wayne Bridge... how are they going to sell some of the others who are a tad overated and on stupid wages???

Tbh Hargo will go, I can see Bridge, Santa Cruz and Boyata leaving but then what about the rest of players they could sell to free up space.. Its not just about suitors, in this time of teams getting in debt and financial fair play, what teams can afford them at full price and full wages?

and who is saying they cant sell Dzeko, Ballotelli and Johnson/Milner to fund buying Hazard and any other players?. No one and surely selling to buy is fine with fair play rules
And what teams can afford to 1) Spend big in terms of City's asking price 2) Afford the wages for the players 3) deal with their egos and 4th) Which players would take a wage drop?

City cannot even sell SWP, Adebayor and Santa Cruz... they are all on loan and City are paying the majority of the wages.

And to you Joe, surely last night is enough to show that Rooney as a lone striker is a mistake waiting to happen.

Lewis also I feel you are overhyping City and the changes they will make far too much... Its almost bordering on Barca-esque hype where you are making it out that City will be invincible... And it definately didnt end up that way with Barca...

Everyteam is beatable and well had we gone out and attacked last night instead of playing for a draw then the result would have been different.

or would we have just conceaded more goals?. Hindsight is wonderful. Either way we lost and If you dont think City buying players like Hazard in the summer is realistic then well.....you are in for a shock. I HATE CITY with a passion and last night i could of killed someone I was that angry......now its time to get realistic. They were only in 2nd gear yesterday and were comfortable all night....nothing to defend against. They are a great team that come the summer will be made even better...
Are people forgetting the fair play rule? they need meet the regulations of that so they will have to get rid first they are way off, and no one is willing meet the wages that city pay there players so it wont be that easy why do you think January was so quiet it was all over the papers city wanted more players but they were concerned about the fair play rule. that line up you shown us lacks defensive quality's so i doubt it would be as great as you make out.
