    Re: Anti-Muppet Team

Devil  I am watching the match at 1700hrs on ESPN. My team here in Scotland are beating Kilmarnock 3.0. That will put them on top because Celtic play away too Dundee United tomorrow. Rangers have a game in hand. Brian Curtes is a Rangers man so he will be happy.YesBig Smile

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night everyone... all the muppet busters..hopefully, today we will thrash Everton and need not listen to all the complains from the regular muppets..I got a feeling we will just scrape through though with all the international games being played. Our players will definitely be tired mentally and physically.

i agree with you but i dont think too many of our players will be too tired, giggs, scholes, rooney, owen, carrick, fletcher, evans and alot of players have had long enough rest, at least a week's worth.

morning all. i'm in a grumpy mood, having a cold, waking up at 3:30am not being able to get back to sleep is not my cup of tea! playing cricket this morning, so hopefully i can make some runs or get a few wickets...

Devil  A young lad like you Dizza and you are grumpy because you have a cold.Indifferent When you reach my age with a cold I have no time to be grumpy. A cold will hit me where my whole body aches, and if I became grumpy my wife would remind me "You a man or a mouse". Then hit me on the head with a frying pan!! I stop being grumpy then.Big Smile

hahaha. not too bad now, just don't like being woken up in the middle of the night! Angry. sounds like your wife keeps you in line... off to cricket soon, hoping it doesn't rain! very overcast here, and we got some rain overnight.

Good morning, afternoon, evening everyone... Hope everyone is having a fabulous day today....urm, France won. Big Smile ( although a little controversial) By the way, I thought Ireland fought bravely and they just didn't have the most important thing during a football match, LUCK. Audouc, red irish, better luck next time. However, just out of curiousity, everyone here seems to be brandishing Thierry Henry a cheat, liar, disgrace to football, etc.. for his handball. What if that was Patrice Evra instead, will he be condemned by us all?

Calm down!! Did ye read what i posted at all i wonder? I did'nt order him to do anything, nor did i say i had any qualms about why he supports another country for the reasons he does, i simply said i dont understand the reasons why he & now others it seems does. I did'nt ask him to apologise either for it. I also did'nt say he did'nt have the freedom to support whichever team he wants or in this case a country.

If ye want to support big footballing nations which in this case is Brazil & France because ye'r own country has'nt got a chance as ye put it. Fair play to ye.

Support is a big thing to me, of course i'd like a country to win the World Cup (provided the Rep of Ireland dont make it)!, & im on record of saying it here a few times that id like to see England winning it & gave my reasons as into why i think they can win it, but i aint going to support them, I cant bring myself to support another country nor do i see the point in it either.

No hard feelings i hope !

Just like Audouc said, there are definitely no hard feelings, Red...I was just pointing out that everyone has a right to support any team that they wish....Most Malaysians do anyway, not because they don't care of the national team but because things that aren't football related gets in the way....Which is disheartening and irritating, but, hey, what can we do ?....Just to get in the WCup fever by rooting for another nation that has 1/3 chance of winning it...

And I'm really sorry that Ireland didn't make it through....You guys played really well and definitely deserved to go through....I saw the delayed match and Ireland outplayed France for the entire 120 minutes...Just lacked a bit clinicality....And fortune that went for the French with their goal...But, well played  and I do think the team will be there for the next EURO...

    Splendid Spy.

I dont understand the excuse you give for supporting another country, which was basically because your own country does not have a decent football team, & has no chance in making it to a big tournament.

I actually thought you were French going by your 'I've never been so happy when Anelka scored' & 'Let us break Irish hearts' posts dotted throughout the forum.

Im also from a country that has little or no chance of making it big on the world stage, but that does not stop me from supporting believing in the players that wear the green jersey. Tommorow night is our last chance saloon in making it to the World Cup, if Ireland dont make it, i'll be upset but i'll still be proud of the players for giving me lots of enjoyment through out the qualifing campaign & bringing us to within a heartbeat of making it.

Take my advice mate & take a leaf out of the Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish & Irish fans books, & stick by your country no matter what & believe that some day they'll make it to a World Cup, cause if the people in your country dont have belief & faith in your football team, they'll never make it !!

I understand what you mean red irish...I come from the same country as splendid..I know we do not have chance of going to the World Cup...because the whole footballing system has gone corrupt...We were once as good as the Japanese and the Koreans in the 80s but that era fell but even then we could not make it..

I still hope we do qualify some day but something drastic needs to be done to achieve that...but its not fair for you to say that splendid doesn't have the freedom to support whoever team he chooses too...He doesn't need to be coming from that particular country to be entitled to support that country..Lets say for an example, even a French guy doesn't necessarily have to support their birth country...Do you get i mean?

If we turn the tables around, lets say if you were from Nepal or Suriname..( Its just an example ) you would hope your team would be in the World Cups some day...but deep down you know its an almighty struggle...Surely you would be doing the same as splendid..supporting another country in the World Cup..

Thanks Vinod and Lim Chia Cheen for helping me to explain. That was exactly the reason why I have to support another country in an international tournament. I really hope and pray that my country can get into the world cup but they are so poor that they can't even qualify for the Asian cup and continue to struggle within the south east asia region as well. If you are from Malta for instance ( no offence to all the Maltese Big Smile ) , what are the chances that your country will qualify for the world cup? very slim...to say the least. Therefore, red irish, robi, jake and dizza..hopefully you guys can understand why certain people have to support other countries in an international tournament. It's not that we aren't patriotic, it's just that we have no choice.

Well, same goes for me. Now I wonder where my allegiance lie. I used to support France but no longer because I really began to dislike the things Michelle Platini has to say. Ah, well...at least there are two things my country is good at that I can support - badminton and hoki.

Devil  I dont think there is any hard feelings there buddy, so dont worry. We are all friends on here. I just hope Ireland win. To be honest I would have loved to seen, Scotland,Ireland (Republic&Northern Ireland), England&Wales all playing in the finals. I wonder what the odds are of that ever happening. A million too one shot at the bookies? I bet if that ever did happen the rest of the soccer world would be screaming that the UK has an unfair advantage and THEN call for a Great Britain team LOLBig Smile

I have been supporting Brazil for about a decade plus.....And, I ain't got no qualms about it....But that doesn't makes me unpatriotic....I love Malaysia....Wherever I go, Malaysia is home and it will be like that....

But, football in Malaysia is corrupted by politics, and so unfortunately, till we clean it up we'll never make it....The day that we make it to WC Finals will be the happiest day for every Malaysian.........So, splendid, you dont need to apologize to anyone or explain yourself....It's your decision...
