You say our failure to sign world class players nearly cost us losing him last time. Strangely 48 odd hours later when he was offered nearly a quarter of a million pound a week it was all forgotten, he apparently made a mistake and he was quite happy to stay. If he had concerns about the squad, fine. Speak to Ferguson. Don't go public like he did. Not only did it insult his team mates but also Ferguson. I certainly won't forget him pulling that stunt. No doubt there needs to be some additions to the squad but I wouldn't worry about losing Rooney if the squads not added too.As long as he's financially happy I don't think he has a problem. I certainly wouldn't be happy signing players to keep Wayne Rooney happy. As I said, Im almost certain that won't be a problem as long he's earning that sort of money.

We need to invest in some new players, and when I say new players I mean world class talent or I reckon we'll lose our best player. There's no creativity in our team, with Rooney having to constantly drop deep to collect the ball thus he's not doing what he does best....score goals. Felt quite sorry for him last night, completely isolated with no one pulling any strings behind him. Our failure to sign any world class talent nearly cost us when he said he wanted to leave last time, heed the warning Fergie,Gill and Glazers.

    Re: invest....or lose Rooney.

Rooney is a good player - NOT a world beater!

Personally I have always said Rooney is a very OVER RATED player!

Man Utd we are a big club. I have always told my mates that we always have someone that will get us goals and one that will contend for the golden boot. Rooney scoring so many goals is no surprise it was bound to happen - it is Manchester United!

Rooney's performances are ineffective and don't really add value to our football. Castrol uses footy data to rate player's performance but Rooney is the only player I know who has never been rated in the top 10 even when he was on top form. The highest he has reached is 12.

ManUtd has always had a star player in their team that has won us trophies - But Rooney is the only star player I know who has never won us a trophy - when we need him to rise to the ocassion he never does! After Xtiano leaving we have only won one trophy curtsy of Nani and Berbatov.

ROONEY should stop playing as an AM in between a striker and CMs!

This position is obsolote in modern football and many teams have phased it out in their systems. It slows down attacks and it unnecessarily crowds the most important area in most football formations. This means fewer runs are made and less through passes are played.

Whatever Rooney plays is selfish! Look right, ping to Val25, run to the box, wait for a header! Or Look left, see Nani making a forward run - ignore him, look right ping Val25 and go wait for your cross! This is no value added to our game! Let him go and watch how Rivaldo, Zidane and Totti do it. Rooney is not technically oriented and tactically discplined for this position.

People always say that Nani plays for himself but Rooney plays entirely for himself!

Worst of it all he always SCREAMS at the young lads because they didn't complete a pass to him! I have seen him do it to Nani, Welbs, Cleverly, Jones and Smalling. - I wish he could do it to Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher and Ferdy as well - just for a fair expression!

He always wants everyone to play for him and however doesn't becomes the bad guy.

How dare him hold us on a ransom!

We have let Becks and Ruud leave when they were in the prime of their careers and our team always turned out well! Maybe it is time for Rooney to go - I love the vibrance of the young lads - working together, supporting their plays and so on - not waiting for crosses and screaming at others because the cross didn't reach his fore head!

Rooney is no world beater, he has never won for any team silverware because of his outstanding performances - NEVER! If he reconsiders leaving let him go - coz we are in no hurry in buying new players in the summer.

i'm sure rooney will do a lot of thinking during the off-season and i believe he'll want out. in my opinion it would be fair enough too as united have a way to go before they are genuinely considered once again to be a 'great' side. i wouldn't want him to go of course, but he'll want greener pastures, so to speak.

There are some good players coming through. However, for them to actually come through they need to get a game. After we blew out of the Champions league the decision should have been made to blood the youngsters more and more. Opportunity missed in my view.
