    Re: my honest opinion.

    JoeYoung:
It is not 100% the players fault. When we had Carlos Queiroz in the staff (2004-2008) we bought Rooney, Evra, Vidic, Park, Van Der Sar, Carrick, Tevez, Nani, Anderson, both Da silva's and Hargo (oh dear) These were the major signing and these were all fantastic signings, bar hargo and maybe Anderson.

The years he has not been here (2008-present) we have signed Tosic, Berbatov, De Laet, Diouf, Obertan, Valencia, Lindegaard, Bebe, Hernandez, Smalling, Jones, De Gea and Young.

You can see the massive change in typ eof player we have signed since he had left. Berbatov, very good player, did great for us but not even being played now? Seems like a waste of 30 mil to me. De laet is a fail signing, so was diouf and obertan, Valencia was our best signing in the last 4 years. Lindegaard was to fill he gaps now. Bebe - what a fail. Hernandez, great sgning and great spot by the scouts but looks to me as if he is a sub. Smalling and Jones - The coaching staff don't even know what position to put Jones in.. Fantastic talent but I fera the staff could ruin him. Smalling is a natural, no compaints. Brilliant footballer. De Gea was a great signing and Young was a necessary and fit in well, but not eactly a world beater like we have seen Carlos Queiroz produce.

Moral of the story is - bring Carlos Queiroz back.

I'm not doubting you, I'm asking sincerely, how much did Queiroz have to do with deciding who we were signing? I have always assumed those decisions are made between David Gill and Sir Alex, with perhaps some input from the assistant, but I always assumed it was ultimately between Gill and Fergie. I could have it totally wrong though....

    Re: my honest opinion.

Lets be honest we should have had the league sown up ages ago. Losing to Wigan, Blackburn and throwing points away to Everton. I can't put my finger on why we have not been consistant this season, other than injuries and not a strong enough squad. It just appears that in some games we don't have any fight, it's as though the players don't want to be playing. But then you look at the position we are in, we should not even be in contention for the title. The amount of money city have spent and continue to, yet there we are in a good position to win the title. Had we had the spending power of city we would have won the league at least three months ago. Which proves one thing that even if we fail to win the premiereship, we are still the best and biggest football club in the world.
there are no city fans only united haters

Isn't "my honest opinion" implied every time someone starts a thread?

With all respect it needs to be someone who plays in the middle of the park, that's why for me we need to sign Martinez
Your point is well taken but even with the players we have isn´t the mentality different when Vidic is on the pitch. The player doesn´t have to be in the middle. It just has to be someone who will take charge and isn´t afraid to speak out when players are messing up. I would love to see Martinez as well. You can never have too much depth or quality when you play the number of games United does in a season.

@sundown: I can recall a number of big games where Fletch got us through. A few seasons back, he was arguably one of our top performers. I just hope he gets back to full fitness; for our sake and his.

    DOUCOURE:
We need at least Three Players to challenge the bigs teams next season . I suggest The Wolves Central Back Richard Stearman , The LOSC Midfielder Eden Hazard , Bilbao Midfielder De Marcos and Gonzalo Huguian We also need to give some players for loan next season such as : Chicharito , Jonny Evans , Michael Carrick , Stay Blessed Reds Fans We are United for life
why the hell would you loan out Carrick and Evans two of our best performers this term? Also chicharito is having his secon season which is always difficult and has had injuries!!

We seem to be getting off the point a little, yes I have made a comment about transfers but my main point is we don't have any captain courageous type player, or even corporal courageous .yes we have been decimated by injuries in the first half of the season but any player deemed worthy of wearing the United shirt has to come in and give blood for the team. With maybe the exception of ROoney and welbeck ( personal opinion) I don't see this happening. We have no one else to take the game by the scruff of the neck when we need to dig deep. For me this is the most worrying.
I agree with you there. At one time I thought Rio was that guy but he hasn´t stepped up this year.

Honest opinion, I think SAF needs to revamp the whole squad, especially the midfield, and possibly add a proven striker. Need a proven striker beside Rooney. A clear out in the summer is best. I just can't see this current team beating, up to par, to Barcelona. Out of all the teams under SAF, i have to say the current team probably rank bottom. United is getting way too predictable tactically. Teams already figured out how to stop united's threat effectively, double team the wingers and press = United is toast.

Just read below article, and it really pains me.. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/1059999/editor's-angle:-united-betray-traditions,-terry-should-accept-fate?cc=3888 Good reflection I must admit. SAF, Gill, Glazers PLEASE sign world class players like Hazard, Llorente, Martinez/Strootman who can play the United way, beautiful attacking football. SAF himself said in his last 25 years he is amazed to have won just two UCL !!!! We deserve more. Thank you. City are getting the better of us, no doubt. Your thoughts please ....
City is at the top of their game and SAF the builder of champions is in the middle of his next project. What did you expect? Besides the title as I understand hasn´t been officially decided yet.

I think we had a lot of ups and downs this season... and we weren't consistent. I am a big fan of Park ,but this season he wasn't performing at all and in the midfield he was lost.,.,.,.Carrick and Evans had a good season.,,,, ,Ferdinand was solid too....,Scholes bring some confidence and he was always controlling the Game......Rooney had a good season but his Partner Hernandez was in his difficult season (the second one).....Welbeck performed well in my opinion,.,.,.,. ,Nani Valencia and Young were Inconsistent and that was a down for us.,.,.,.,,Smalling and Jones are still learners and I think their position is on the Rightback ,,,,,,Rafael is good but he cost us some games as Evra. Cleverley had a good start as Anderson but Injuries Halt their progression.....De Gea and Lindergaard were solid but De Gea must work a lot on crosses...Giggs has lost some fitness and I think time is up,,,,,Berbatov Wasn't given a chance and there is a big question on it cause his score rate is very good......Now we must be prepaired for next season,Hoping we will have a good and younger squad with Evans ,Smalling ,Jones ,Cleverley ,Pogba ,Welbeck ,De Gea ,Hoping Nani & Valencia can have a good Season and the Return of Vidic will make us complete. If I had to buy a player I will go for Ander Herrera of Athletic Bilbao ,he still young and I think he will compete well in the premiere league.

    Re: my honest opinion.

I still believe we need some creative players in our midfield .. We are still relying on scholes, giis and rooney not that valencia is not influential. But looking at the style we played i am just unhappy. We were once the most desrtuctive force in football .. now it has changed to "United has been there .. they churn out the results". That is why i want 2 influential players some one like roy in the midfield .... perhaps modric .. he is not like roy but he does not give up easily. and that never say die attitude .. (its beginning to change i think so).. that attitude only comes after we go behind by 1 or 2 goals .. but that attitude in the 90's was with attack first and if we go behind then use that attitude. this post might seem not correct as this is after the derby loss. RED DEVIL till i die.
