    OP you are an idiot.

Rooney ISNT on £200K a week... If you actually properly followed United instead of believing BS printed in the papers then you would know that around last August it was actually revealed in a news article on this official website that Rooney DIDNT get an improved contract and signed the ORIGINAL contract which was offered to him fyi that was £160K a week......

And a poor forward? Are you kidding me? He plays in the AM/SS role and yet has a better goal to game ratio then the likes of Van Persie, Benzema, Higuain etc etc

Bizarremind: I can see your point about a consistent striker, but how are Welbeck and Hernandez going to learn, improve and become consistent if we just move them aside for another striker? Its catch 22 really... Persevere with a striker and help them learn and they will pay you back.. fyi Welbeck has scored more goals this season then Van Persie managed when he was the same age... And look at Van Persie now.. Keep giving the games and you will get repaid.

    Amen to that brother!
89crue I'm am no idiot and am entitled to my opinion, I follow everything this club does and go to all the home games. Maybe if some of you went to watch the actual games live and didn't just watch highlights on Motd or sky that try and make Rooney look like a world beater you would know what I am trying to point out. Rooney has zero flair for a start struggles to dribble the ball past any player, gives the ball away poorly regular. Most of his goals come from spot kicks which this season he has bee pathetic at. Lastly if you really believe he signed the 160k a year contract you are seriously gullible as that was properganda released by the club to try and get us paying fans to like him again after his disgraceful antics last season. Rooney is a mercenary worse than tevez as he is English and shoul understand the history and traditions of football in this country, like it or not he will leave if a bid of 60m comes in for him as football is now a business and Rooney in my opinion is worth around 35m.

You guys can slate me all you want , I am a life long united fan and live and breath the club every day. I feel that 200k a week in wages for an average forward like Rooney is absolute extortion. I don't think he has full filled his potential that has been on offer to him as a united player. He is by no means any where near a world class Player, i think a lot of us were expecting him to grow from that terrorising 19 year old into a world beater in the mould of the Brazilian ronaldo, in my opinion he will never reach that height. I feel that if anything he's has gone backwards and we should cash in. At times this season he has looked lazy and not interested and I don't think he really cares for the club it's just a job to hiim playing for us, to me this was proved last year when he held us to ransom which I will never forgive him for. It really hurts me to think that if we keep him a person like him could end up beating sir bobby goal record.
what a pointless post. never mind rooney being shown the door you should off this forum for talking garbage. Rooney goals has carried the team this year. yes others have chipped in but Rooney has been very consistent

The post was shocking as it is, but when the last line says he will go on to be our record goal scorer ... Kind of sums up why the whole point of the article is stupid.

Re: Rooney first to be shown the door in summer

i think the fact SAF broke the wage barrier in order for rooney to stay even though he said "united have no ambition" shows that no matter what, rooney won't be going anywhere and that the future united team will be built around rooney, and its justified really because rooney has been immense since ronaldo left, and really has carried the team. normally when a player starts getting a bit too big for his boots (ince, keane and the like) they are outta here, but not rooney and its just aswel. So PSG can *** off And you can also *** off for being numb enough to actually declare rooney to be rubbish. he is easily one of the top 5 strikers in the world.

If rooneys average wot the hell is park, Evans, Carrick, evra, macheda, berbatov, Fletcher. Id just wish everyone was like rooney n if it wasn't for his goals we wouldn't b half as good. He's worth every penny in my eyes n a committed player at that. We hav so many *** players n rooney is one if the best n well above average

Man, he's one player that plays more deeper than any forward, his passing is immaculate...his games per goal ratio is amazing...are you talking about another Rooney who earns that much? I think his best is yet to come...

Re: Rooney first to be shown the door in summer

Guys lets be realistic here. Rooney has been carrying the squad for a while, without his 33 or so goals, where would we even place ? The problem is he needs a quality forward to play with him, they can both combine and share the goals. At the moment, chicha + welback are too young and they need much more experience. Another huge problem, is the service to the strikers, therefore top class midfielders are essential. Look at it this way, if we get an outrageous 120m for him, we can buy at least 3-4 world class players. Would they value and give everything to United the way wazza does? Nobody knows. He can barely speak English, how will he cope in France. Its a win/lose situation.

Re: Rooney first to be shown the door in summer

    BizarreMind:
With a midfield like ours,i am surprised Rooney has got as many goals as he has,but that just goes to show how much "Class" he does have, now take a striker who craves the through balls from midfield for example Hernandez he craves a through ball from midfield "not a cross" not a winger pass, but a creative midfielders "Through Ball" and i am sure he would get plenty of goals, but with the likes of Carrick,Giggs & Parks in midfield i am not surprised by his lack of goals.

I still however think we need a "consistent" striker to partner Rooney though,Welbeck & Hernandez are still both learning,Rooney has way to much on his plate as it is,with out having him drop deep into midfield just to find something and 2 make something happen.

This! Is it my imagination or do those of us with any sense at all keep coming back to the same old problem....our midfield is not good enough!!!!!!!!!! Hernandez gets a lot of stick on here, but I can see the runs he endlessly makes...it's just we have no energetic creativity im midfield to spot them or attempt to make that killer pass.

Been saying it for three years and will keep saying it until we finally sort it out or it eventually drives me insane!!

Wayne Rooney- 41 games and 33 goals. Van Persie- 45 games and 34 goals. Benzema- 49 games and 31 goals. Aguero- 44 games and 28 goals. Llorente- 45 games and 28 goals. Cavani- 45 games and 31 goals. Go on, tell me just how overrated he is. And Rooney plays deeper than all these players.
Good job Bro!! Why not showing game/goal ratio for CR 7 & Messi?
