This might be controversial, but for the good of the club, should Scholes and Giggs retire? I know they can't, skill for skill, heart and dedication, be replaced, but there surely has to be an alternative out there.

Is it really lack of funds that has stopped us buying? I know full well about this fabled £120 (been told enough) million we have to spend, but what is the real reason that there have been no midfield replacements?

As you might have guessed... I still wear green and gold. I have seen all the facts and figures...heard all the arguments, but our refusal to spend (for me) means only one thing.

When have you ever known a United team to quit if they thought there was a chance? Don´t forget we were reduced to 10 men and most of the damage was inflicted in the last ten minutes when the players were exhuasted.

So what were SAFs options? SAF had one CB at his disposal, Cleverley, Fletcher and Anderson out injured not to mention 7 or 8 other first teamers out injured.

I agree United should probably invest and probably will but with the injury problems at the club this year SAF had to set his formations based on the players at his disposal.Manchester United and SAF have never followed what other teams have done. They have always been innovators not followers.

Hernandez got 12 goals this season more than wellbeck and hardly played.

They both have plenty to offer but I think I´ll leave who plays more up to SAF. Their styles are totally different. Both have suffered a few knocks this year and haven´t always been in form.

Before Lindergaard got injured he was first choice for 5 or 6 matches in a row so I don´t think there was a question who was #1 before the injury.

Totally agree, well said. Poor defensive error's cost us against Everton, we could have still lost against Shity and still gone on to win the league!

So pay peanuts get peanuts. When SAF retires, a new manager will demand a war chest. So cherish the memories until then, I'm afraid. Why not remove your name from the season ticket waiting list. If 10,000 others do likewise, the Glazers might realise that winning NOTHING this season and the next two seasons may be acceptable at the Etihad, but not Old Trafford.

SAF made several mistakes this season, as did Mancini with his deployment of Balotelli. Mancini has a wealth of riches on his bench. Ferguson had only Carrick and Scholes (20 games) fit given Flethcher's illness, Park, Anderson's ineptitude and injury and the misfortune of losing Cleverly after only four games. I suggest he sells Anderson and Ji Sung, but he won't because there is no guarantee that he will sign anyone in CM this year. He never does. He disagrees with all our views to strengthen that area and sits on his hands watching Toure waltz right through our journeymen. He plays Wellbeck to allow Rooney to play as a number 10. Wellbeck is not good enough, nor is Hernandez nor Berbatov. A good number 9 should score 20+ per season, especially with support from Nani, Young, Valencia and Rooney. The latter is not scoring and prefers to drop deep. Giggs and Scholes will be peripheral next season. City don't need to strengthen their midfield, so there is no excuse not to buy in this area. City do need a forward, so we will not be able to bid at the top table. So we need to get used to winning nothing for a few seasons, just like Arsenal, until SAF retires. He has been fantastic, but his hands are tied by current owners and 490M pounds of debt. He will have 25M in his June kitty. So expect a couple of unproven kids at best., So pay peanuts get peanuts.
