TBH i can't see Cleverley 1 day be that top player like scholes. At this age he should've showed more class but i hope i'm wrong because we badly need our young players to step up.
I must correct you, mate. I remember the time when Scholes couldn't command a first team place in Utd's matches.... and he was older than what Cleverley is now!

Cleverley will be a top player. He has the talent and he has the will to work hard. With another signing in the summer we are sorted as we have Carrick,Cleverley, new signing,Anderson(if fit),Scholes.Thats a good midfield to have. And Giggs can play there if we have injuries.
Lets see if he will make it,he been out a long time this season, what about next season,if thats the same? we should have secured pogba a long time ago,i think he had way more talent, but thats just how i see it. like cleverly alot thoo.
When I see a player with talent and with a good attitude, I am sure he will make a good career.I dont buy the whole injury prone thing about Cleverley. It was one injury that kept him out which is now fully healed. If he gets injured for months again next year, maybe I will start believing it.
Read under the loan spell section. Other than wigan, 3 out of 4 years he has had his season prematurely ended(thats the line there). His ability is undeniable, and he probably will be a solid player for years to come but only if he strengthens himself. if we are relying on him and he gets injured again, what then ask scholes and giggs to pull a rabbit out of the hat till january comes. I am not one to jump on the bandwagon of signing every player we have been linked with, but certain areas do need to be filled. LB if fabio goes, CM atleast one midfielder be with martinez or mvilla. CAM kagawa(he is good at the money being asked for a pretty good player - 7 million we will make it back in his shirt sales in asia alone). Besides that llrontte, hazard etc seem a distant dream away. Hazard though a good option would probably himself or his agent want their pockets lined and city will do that. Lucas is way to expensive and so is neymar(and his attitude is a concern). Eriksen maybe but what will his price tag be, jordy claise from the dutch league playing for feyenoord who i think would make an excellent buy, mvilla and kagawa would more than make up for the midfield troubles along with carrick, scholes, giggs and fletcher incase we don't go to spend big. get a lb after that and maybe a cb depending on vidic's and ferdinand conditions and health.

We have a player in our squad that is showing we dont need to splash 30+ MILLION ON A CM.

This player is the only one in our squad that has shown real silky passing and build up play.

the only one that seems to do the basics.......PASS AND MOVE. You watch him. he passes the ball and he is immediately off on a run to find space FORWARD...........THIS is why we played so well at the start of the season. compared to NOW. the players seem to wait for the ball to come to them as they all look rather rigid bar down the ride hand side of the field/wings.

this young man has CLEARLY got us ticking through the middle....FINALLY.

Early season proved this and i strongly believe next season, is the season he turns our midfield upside down.

just one simple bit of proof to show the difference..........MASS difference in us when he plays....im sure you have guessed him by now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WwdkVaGWx4 - please watch if you dont believe.

...........infact how could you not believe.

is it just coincedence that as soon as he was struck with injury we dropped IMMENSLEY in form and our style completely changed? i think not.

i only wonder what would have been had him and vidic stayed fit....

Well said Volcom. It's nice when somebody appreciates our actual players too. Nice vid too, and for those saying the opposition was weak, you can only play what's in front of you.
Post whatever rubbish you like and if people disagree then just play the opinion card

Don't want to put a downer on things but anybody could play well in a 3 man midfield against a midfield of Livermore and Kranjcar. I actually agree that Cleverley has the potential to be one of the best but at the minute he is injured way too often and also it's not enough. We need another of his type of player in there and Kagawa is that man.
ok then barca friendly.........not enough? arsenal match.........still not enough? , city second half community shield...completely changed our play. :D but yes get kagawa in there too. just saying our midfield situation isnt all doom and gloom as all make out. especially with petrucci and this amazing daehli coming through
Two friendlies that mean Jack and where effort is 40% at best and against the worst ever Asrenil team and you use those as examples psml and in the City game it was not just him, so get off your high horse there John Wayne and start showing a little respect to other posters opinions or did you come here to make yourself feel good by talking down to people and trying to acted like a know it all smarta$$ ?
hang the absolute *** on here big man who literally has no clue..........show respect to other posters opinions? sorry but how did i show disrespect for saying i disagree and doing so in a friendly manner. theres a big smiley face as a HUGE hint it was in a friendly manner you blind goat!

second........i have done nothing but have THE COMPLETE RIGHT TO DO SO....in having my own different opinion to someone else and saying so...........last time i checked this was a forum and speech was a concept of freedom!

third..........your telling me to respect opinions yet you are......."psml" laughing (i reccomend changing your trousers and going for a shower) at mine and telling me what to do?

wow, hypocritical , genius at his best here.

Lets be honest, Cleverly has shown nothing but potential thus far, and he hasn't shown enough to be judged. its really not fair to say either way what he would have done had he not been injured but to me he just doesn't fit into a 4-4-2, that doesn't mean he is a bad player, but his lack of steel and ability to score is alarming to me. Scholes isnt a good tackler, but he has some metal to him as well as an obvious ability to score, you add that to his wonderful passing ability and thats why he was the best, Clevery is not even close to scholes' class IMO.
man.........contradict yourself COMPLETELY = INVALID point.

you say he hasnt played enough to be judged then say he hasnt scored enough and "lacks steel " which is a terrible observation.

Haha, I suppose I did say that it was to early to judge and the I judged. I remember Cleverly spurning a few good chances in those games and I have never seen him to be a hard tackler. So I fail to see how either of those observations is "terrible"
he used to be a fullback and if you remembered the matches against arsenal and spurs he did well tackling wise for a cm

He's good. I'd like to think of him and Pogba as the future of our midfield. But Cleverley is injury prone, and Pogba might leave. Anderson and Fletcher are practically guarenteed to be unavailable for most of the season. Carrick is in his last couple of years. Giggs and Scholes are in their last year. Park is finished. Therefore, we need somebody.
