We have to look to the future and the youh yes I agree and we will.
However you need the right balance of youth, fairly experienced and well experienced players to cover all aspects of the season. That set of players we will have next season, this season I don't think has gone as planned due to injuries and such.
Not sure who is going on about Beckham, Butts etc but there are people who firmly believe that we have some very talented in the youth system that can become key players for us in the future the likes of Keane, Fryers, Tunnicliffe, Blackett, Petrucci etc. We have a bright future ahead thats for sure.
I agree with Giggs and Scholes, the summer transfer window didn't work out for us in the sense that we brought no one in to replace Scholes, SAF put a lot of faith into the younger players Cleverley, Anderson, Pogba. Then we had Fletcher who was struggle with his illness and one or two injuries to others.
Cleverley started brightly but picked up an injury against Bolton, since we lost him we did lose something and so tried to rush him back in with him having a reoccurance of his injury. He has been back for a while now gaining fitness in the reserves and such, towards the end of the season it isn't the time to be experimenting with our squad and SAF imo has done the right thing with him, he will be back next season and hopefully stay clear of injuries.
As to Pogba and Morrison, both got called up to train with the first team which is a big step, Morrison clearly had off the field problems we gave him a chance but continuous problems lead to him leaving and he hasn't done much since, Pogba had chances in the CC against the likes of Leeds, Crystal Palace but didn't impress imo, we don't see him in training either so I trust SAF's judgement in to when to bring him through, around the winter time the Blackburn game stands out to some but this was the time when rumours came about his contract which I think could have affected his chances. If he isn't committed then why should he play?
Other youths got a few chances as well Keanes and Cole, more out on loan like Brady, Tunnicliffe, Norwood gaining vital experience. As to Giggs in cm well to be fair he did very well in that role last season with he and Carrick reaching the CL final so couldn't have been that bad, love Giggs myself but have to admit that he has lost his legs and towards the end of the season has featured less.
SAF has said he won't go out and buy random players, he will invest in youth like he has always done and thats the way forward if we want to dominant, you need a strong team with chemistry who can play together for 5-8 years at top level. Of course SAF is the master at rebuilding a new team and we can see that happening now.
Finally as I say the season didn't go as plan and we didn't have too many large wins when we could of brought youngsters on, next season we will see Scholes and Giggs take a lesser role with Cleverley,Welbeck,Smalling etc coming to the front with of course some more additions to the team.
