I'm actually chuffed carrick hasn't been called up to that circus, also chuffed that Rio hasn't made the squad. Would have preferred Sturridge to get the nod over Welbeck and hope that Jones only plays a substitute role at most. Worried that Young's form will see him play most games. Thank goodness Smalling is ruled out through injury.
That's not just for the England squad, I hope Evra withdraws from the squad and the same for Nani! Would much prefer that all United players withdraw from International duty as next season will be a tough one. Guarantee even though he can't play the first two games Rooney gets blamed for Englands probable under performance.
Question though, when do fans start realising that the England performances are no longer underpar but actually just of what they are capable of?
Glad to Oxlade-Chamberlain get the nod as he looks a good player, he won't get on the field much the same as Ruddy but nice to see some outside players get a look in. Can't believe Terry has been selected, the man is a joke and isn't as defensively sound as he once was. Can't argue with many of the other player selections (considering I don't want our lads involved). Disagree with the Barry comments, he's actually the only genuine holding midfielder England have and he's had a succesul domestic campaign.
All in all, without looking at youth, probably due to injury, I don't see England getting out of the group as they won't be able to get hold of the ball. A line up of (not saying this will be the line up just what I think judging by Hodgsons previous tactics and line ups) Hart, Johnson, Terry, Cahill, Cole, Young, Gerrard, Barry, Parker, Downing, and Defoe will be jewed up by most teams. Hope they do well though along with Ireland.
