In fairness to Hazard I think he was going to announce it but was told to keep quiet, when was the last time a player announced where he was going before the club. I also think he looks like a nice guy and I don't think he is how is portrayed in the media, when he left Lille, he was surrounded by team mates and was hugged and sent off by everyone, literally everyone, there has to be a reason behind that, he seems like a likeable guy and no one knows except him what he wants, he could be wanting a United move but if we don't offer him the wages he wants then he can go somewhere else, we will get equal playing time with us and Chelsea, if you could get paid £70,000 a week more for doing the same job with the same oppertunities, who would you choose... Not everyone is a United fan and most foreign players have no ties to us, we would be foolish to think just because of our name, players will sign for us, from an outside perspective, United are not champions of England, we're not champions of Europe and we have no cups at all this season.
We have SAF and more proof of providing oppertunities for youth, but Chelsea are offering the same oppertunities so, we would be silly not to offer a tiny bit more than we would, he's rated at what he is for a reason. So, if we get him great, if not, we can't call him names or whatever because we will not give out silly wages for any player unless they have proved themselves with us, if we offered him 130,000 a week now and in 2/3 years he could be on 200,000, but, if he wants 200,000 now and equal oppertunities then fair play to him.
Let's not call him names especially when we don't know anything about the situation behind closed doors. He may choose us, he may not, to be honest we were fine before him and we'll be fine after him.
The thing that stands out to me was, he was ready to reveal his future but Gill was at the Lille final game and then he said he didn't know. I honestly don't believe he is playing us like people think but who knows. I have not seen any Chelsea rep or City rep at the Lille games so I think that speaks volumes. If we really want him, we'll get him, most likely do what we were going to table with Sneijder, offer him about 130,000 plus sponsorship deals to bump it up to 200,000 a week overall.
Let's all just calm down and see what happens in 10 days.
