Guys, seriously, everyone complains we aren't bringing in good players and the minute we do, just because he is from Japan, the only reason we're bringing him in is because of shirt sales, this may not sound it but it is a very *** comment, you're instantly disgregarding what Kagawa has achieved in a very hard and competitive league, the kid has a lot of talent and will work wonders for our team and to set the record straight, we don't see even half of the shirt sales in Asia, we take a cut from Nike, it's not like we get 100% profit and that's the reason we signed Kagawa, get your facts straight and stop being so r a c i s t, I for one am delighted if we close out this deal!

We're better than this guys, we don't want to be like the bin dippers or the berties, those two are incredibly stupid and r a c i s t and come out with things like that, let's just appreciate, we've managed to make a massive coup for a small outlay, he's a 30/35 million pound player if he had a full contract. This place angers me sometimes!
i wouldnt say its r a c i s t lol its a fact he would sell shirts in asia just like park does its a fact but thats obviosly not the reason we signed him we signed him because hes a quality players and will add so much to our team but i think its a bit far fetched saying people are r a c i s t thats a strong word to use against people.

There is noting *** to say that a japanese player will increase our selling of jerseys, that is a FACT. However that doesn't mean that he cant be a great player, which he is! But stop talking about *** when there is none.

People who say we only signed him to sell shirts have obviously never seen him play. These people are idiots, but I don't think you can call them r/acist. They're juust kids who are butt-hurt they wont have Hazard in their FIFA team next year.
Some journos are saying that, shows how much of a joke they are.

Thats not true about shirt sales. Where did you hear that or what makes you think that? Im pretty sure thats why clubs change their kits yearly to make money. A percentage would be payed to United....
The club only receive a percentage after a very large number are sold as I understand it. Up until that number is reached all proceeds go to Nike and AON. Actually I think the sponsors are the ones who want the kits changed?

these posters no nout about players and mufc,so i wouldn't let it get to me so much.the player your on about i know nout about but still have the decency to respect the player and the club for pullin off a deal which looks a very good deal.i can't give any input into the player as i don't know enough or anything about him,but i'm willin to give the player the same respect as i'd give any new signin and will only then judge him after we get a decent chance to see what the player is like, this is something i'd advise ppl on this forum to do.after all it looks like he'll be part of are club very soon and by dissin him your only dissin a utd player, which in fact says a lot about posters that are willin to dis utd players.imo they shouldn't even be on the site as its clear there not even true supporters.thats how i see them anyways...... p.s city, liverpool love these kind of fans....

There was me thinking we only signed Japanese players for their sushi and their aptitude with samurai swords.

That's my point, just because a player is from somewhere outside of Europe or South America, he's not considered a big name, I think Landon Donavon is a big player but because he's American, no one will think he's good enough, what I'm saying is, Asian, Pakistani, Indian, Belgian, Russian WHATEVER, if you're good enough, you're good enough end of, he's not being bought in just for shirt sales
I agree with you I can´t see us investing in a player simply to raise the sale of shirts. Especially when the revenue from the shirt sales go to the shirt sponsor AON or the shirt manufacturer Nike and not the club. The other thing is if SAF didn´t think a player would improve the squad I doubt he would sign him or suggest Gill or the Glazers sign the player.

First and foremost what sells shirts or brings revenue to the club is a players performance along with his and the clubs success not his country of origin.

Nike get the lion share of the profits and United and AON get a percentage, the percentage in England on shirt sales certainly isn't that of Spain, we wouldn't spend £17 Million on someone for more shirt sales, I'd be surprised if we even made £10 Million on shirt sales from just Kagawa, Nike and AON will make a lot! That's why they pay us so much money for Contracts, Nike Contract in 2013 is up for a bumper deal of £600 Million and AON is up for renewal for around £120 Million, advertising and shirt sales is how Nike and AON make their money back, we don't get a massive percentage of what the true turnover of shirt sales are.
No i don't believe he was bought for shirt sales either but theres no hiding the fact that he will. Did you read the article the other day in the dailymail? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2155092/Shinji-Kagawa-Manchester-United-fans-expecting-bigger-buy.html

i actually think its other supporters taking the mick! I know there are a few here but its very very few. Great player with the 'Silva' style of play we have been missing.

On the shirt side of things, teams below us make most of their money through shirt sales, i know we enter the big tournaments but the shirt sales would bring in more than i reckon people believe. An argument often made about players moving...shirt sales alone would pay for that 'player'. AON make more through united advertisements/advertising as well as DHL.(new ad is G.a.y) they get their name out there...

Couldn´t have said it better myself. Thanks mate. I actually think I also read somewhere that even that small percentage doesn´t kick in until a certain number of shirts are sold? Where Kagawa could benefit United is: If he is as big a success in the PL as he was in Bundesleague he no doubt will attract Asian sponsors and possible investors if the floatation goes through.

I don't see why you should. There is nothing wrong with Pakistan or Pakistani people.
