Re: There's just something about Anderson

me23 lets get things straight first of all dont flatter yourself. My post was not in response to yours it just happened to follow your post and not at any point did i single you out it was more of a generalisation about the fickleness of some fans on here I dont post very often but i come here everyday to read what fellow united supporters have to say about my beloved club. Sadly though most of the time im appalled and ashamed for some of those people. Anyway back to your post...as for making world class players from our reserves where did danny come from?? ok he is not world class YET but its a work in progress even Wayne at the tender age of 18 was not world class neither was Rio nor Ruud. It was moving to united and playing at the highest level which PROVED them to be world class. We see potential in young players and bring it out of them. For example ronaldo, nowhere near world class when we signed him however look at him now. Evolving new teams take time and patience we may not see the benefits of this for 2 maybe 3 seasons. Did barca just start dominating straight away NO it took time for players like iniesta xavi puyol messi playing together week in week out for 2/3 seasons before they dominated like they have done. Anyway i said adding shinji to a midfield of ando and clevs could provide the missing linkup flair and movement that modern football requires. Seriously before you write a post READ the post your responding too or you may look foolish which imo you have done by not reading my post nor debating the points i had made which was that injuries all season in key areas is the sole reason for our early cup exits. When you have to rely on your younger/inexperienced players its a steep learning curve but they all improved. Evans, D Gea, Jones Smalling Clevs Welbeck ALL IMPROVED and will benefit from this tough season. Apart from C. Palace game...(SHOCKING!!) it came as no real surprise to me we exited the CL/EL/FA Cup when you had our fluid midfield taken out of the game along with our captain and rock in defence and a more predictable rigid and unsettled midfield utilised instead IT IS GOING TO BE TOUGH Although a fit ando and clevs would of definitely helped in games like blackburn at home ( rafa in midfield...REALLY Sir Alex), But by blooding the less experianced players this season will pay dividends also the more senior players now have competition for thier places. Players like Evra Nani Rooney Hernandez Vidic Rio Scholes Carrick all know that they can be replaced if they under perform as the younger players now have more experience and have shown they can perform there. However like i said IF it works then we will see the return of the fast fluid attacking football we all know and love from our beloved united. Either way im very optimistic as i always am for the coming season. For me its the continued success of our club and the traditions we hold dear that matter...not how many trophies we didnt win. Anyway at united we always get both when was the last season we won nothing 2 seasons in a row??? Case closed

Hmmm these posts get better and better. I guess your forgetting the start that ando and clevs had when we outplayed and destroyed other teams midfield. Ok it was 5 games in i think before that Muppet davies injured clevs and ando got injured again but a blossoming partnership with ando and clevs was emerging and looked very very exciting. Yet we see a barren season in terms of cups/titles and PANIC hits this forum like a pandemic. Fickle fans we have here always wanting the next best thing overlooking the talent just waiting to burst through in our younger players who can only get better. But other teams bring in some already established names and we see people here go green and gold with envy. WE DONT BUY STARS WE MAKE THEM thats the united way usually when we sign an already World Class star they flop here. Sir Alex has this figured out and he learns from his mistakes THATS WHY HES BEST OF ALL TIME. and to be fair i trust his judgement more than any other if he thinks its not worth it then i agree. You have to cut your cloth accordingly and we do at united thats what keeps us un top despite other teams massive spending.... their just trying to keep pace with us NOT the other way round...If ando and clevs had of been fit and we were playing the same attacking fluid football we were before they both fell injured we may have avoided the 6-1 hammering and being knocked out of the fa cup and CL early. Injuries really hampered our selection all season in key areas. That fast flowing football will return and to add shinji to that midfield of clevs and ando could be the masterstroke to bring it all together. young nani shinji rooney ando and clevs...IF it works very tasty indeed imo. with the slick movement and quick passing pace and power we really could be back to our best only time will tell

Also for the amount of money we would get for Anderson is it really woth letting him go now? i would say at best we would get 7 million, at 24 it is just too much of a risk to sell him now, if we do he could come back to haunt us in a few years time.

There are far more players at the club that I woud rather see go to get the wage bill down as that is surely going to be a must if we buy two, or three more players, Park, Macheda, Berbatov, Evra, and Cleverley (if a central midfielder has to go) can all go before him.

I think with Fletcher's case and Pogba gone,we've got only carrick as our main CM and if he gets injured we might be in big trouble. We can't afford to lose any of our other midfielders like Ando and Cleverley. Scholes ang Giggs won't be here in 2 seasons,we'll need to buy another CM atleast and i think it would be Modric or Strootman or hopefully both.
No idea what will happen with Pogba, still seems up in the air... If he leaves there are many other youth players who can take his spot.

But we can risk losing Ando as Kagawa is capable of playing CM if needed as well as Powell if he does actually come..(Im more thinking Powell will take the spot of Pogba if he leaves). We could well go after Modric or Strootman. So it isnt too risky.

I definitely don't rate Anderson, and on that note, I don't rate Park either. I think that Kagawa coming in is one step towards a better midfield, but we so need one or two more top quality players because the likes of Cleverley, Carrick and Anderson will never help us to compete with the top teams. Does nobody else agree?

Anderson is never fit. He'll be the one to go.

Anderson has had his opportunity now - he really frustrates me! Two good games a season is just not good enough for Utd. Cleverly on the other hand has a real chance of becoming a Utd and England regular - he's pure class! However, I will say that this year he needs to prove this by keeping himself fit and forcing sir Alex to play him! If we could get 10 million for Anderson we should take it!!

Re: There's just something about Anderson

I understand where you're coming from, Anderson has been really unlucky with injuries and such and with a good run I do think he could start to improve. But I think it's too much of a risk to try and continue with him. I know it's also a risk splashing £30m+ on a player like Modric for example, but I think it's much more likely that he will bring us quality to our midfield for the coming years in comparison to Cleverly Anderson. I like Clev, but I don't think he is the answer to our midfield either at the minute and unless he gets out of this injury prone stage he's going through I really don't think he will be. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose, Modric in my opinion would be ideal for us I think!
My transfer policy? Do whatever it takes to bring our Cristiano back home!

Re: There's just something about Anderson

anderson hasnt done anything for the club apart from a penalty in the 08 CL final, at 24 its not abput potential and its more about fine tuning your current attributes, i'd rather see him go, give cleverley 2 season if we get another cm e.g modric, for all we know cleverley could be the english ando, all he has done has had 5 good games and everyone on here at the time seemed to think he was scholes replacement, admittedly i thought it as well, but now u look back on it its a bit pathetic really

all those who think ando should have been played as an attacking midfielder obviously hasnt notice one particular problem with that scenario...he couldnt hit a barn door with a banjo! He plays well for 2 games and then is rubbish for the next 10 then gets injured, goes back to Brazil crashes his sportscar, comes back plays 2 games, rubbish for next 10, gets injured....its a virtual circle of disapointment with the him. Every now and again he bursts through a tackle and you think he might have something but it is like flicker...before you know it...its gone. Its time to get rid and move on.

Re: There's just something about Anderson

Best option will be assessing players and give them less than 5 years to shine.

It is all about the decision making.

Cleverley has been with the first team for only 1 year. He was loaned before and came this year. He showed that he is a real talent. Even when he was injured, we didn't read news about him doing car accidents or has problem elsewhere

On the contrary, Ando, played well sometimes, but despite his talent, he never been that excellent, again as I said, it is because of the management decision-making.

Ando played for Brazil Youth team and he was brilliant, but he is attacking midfielder. With his Brazilian mindset, he knows very well how to attack, but not defending at the same time.

Going back to defend had played a major role in his current form. He is not that kind of midfielders.

Carrick and Scholes used to shoulder the burdens of going back to defend if we have Ando playing because simply he doesn't like to go back a lot and defend.

Ando leaving is best for his development and for our team, unless we will be changing the formation to 4-5-1, so he can play more advanced role.

I think one of the biggest reasons he didn't turn out to be the superstar we all expected him to be is Fergie playing him out of position. When Anderson joined United on 2007, he was given the free role without any responsability to go back and help the defence. Ando is an AM and he plays best when he's there... and I think playing him out of position stalled his progress. He's injury prone, yes but in his first season here he was top quality with his famous runs and quality through passes. Think we should give him 1 more year.... he started the season great but then he got injured again.... 1 more season I say.
    To true mate.

Ando in his first season was great

For seasons 2 and 3 like you said he was played out of position and was learning the DM/holding role.

Season 4 was when he really started to turn up and well last season looked to be the same until he got injured.

I rate Ando, however with all his injuries hampering his progress, it wouldnt surprise me if he leaves this summer.
