    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    i couldn't agree more, boruc is a very very good goalkeeper. He wouldn't be too expensive either. I also rate craig gordon at sunderland, but i don't keano would be too happy to lose him

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    Did you even go to any of those games? Yes fletcher scored but that is all he done in those games he hindered the front 2 and was a complete and utter waste of space,also being at fault for one of the goals!

    John o'shea is a better player than fletcher and is a great servant and deserves to be their. Darren fletcher has only ever produced in a couple of games.

    He's a good player, He not an excellent player! We are the biggest club in the world and the best in europe we should have any players over 25 that are just good players! they should all be excellent!

    jesus wat kinda planet do you live on?

    Darren Fletcher is a very good player, yes hes not world talented, but he works damn hard and wants to play for us, wat other players do you know of his calibre that would gladly sit on the bench week in week out??

     John O Shea and Fletch are a credit to our team and im glad they are here, atleast they have loyalty.

     Ok he may not be the most talented player in the world, but he grabbed  goals in the first few games he played in this year so wat more do you want?

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    Come on guys lets keep things real here. We currently are holding on to 6 keepers and all of which have great potentional. Lest we forget the hasty buys of the post Schemeichel era (Van Der Gouw, Taiabi, Carrol, Barthez.) All came and tried to fill the big mans cloves but all failed. At least right now we are in the postion of grooming our potentials to fill VDS gloves without having to throw them to the wolves. Kuz has signed an extention, Foster is soon to be fit again and I was really impressed with the strength of Amos against Boro. Throw in to that mix the fact that Heaton is getting football while out on loan and Zeiler is climbing the youth ranks why should we run out an pick up somene else's potential youth keeper when home grown is looking so well.

    Keeping the RED FLAG flying high over Europe.

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    I think we need a new goalkeeper, because VDS is getting old and is not as good as he was before, we saw that in the liverpool match, my top 3 goalkeepers would be 1 Igor Akinfeev 2 Manuel Neuer 3 Steve Matanabe.. All are young and talented; akinfeev is the first-keeper on the russian national team, Neuer is a sub on the german national team, and steve matanbe has played a couple of the last games for france, and will most likely play more for france during the world cup qualifiers.

    When it comes to Kuszczak and Foster, they are both good GK, but foster is too often injured, and kuszczak is too unstabile in his performances, he had a good game against chealsea, but he has not impressed me so much in other games he has played.

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    I agree Van Der Sar has had a very poor start,and once Ben foster is fit their is no doubt he is one of the best keepers in the prem as shown in previous years with Watford. How any one can doubt his talent is beyond me!!!!

     CusCus is a waste of space and i wold ship him out asap, he cant catch and is a liability as proved on many occasions, Pompey was a prime example of his lack of ability.The trouble is too many of us are starting to accept average players as our 2nd choice.

     ARe we forgetteing who we are? We are Manchester United,Champions of Europe,champions of England.

    Its about time we started getting rid of the likes of CusCus and Darren Fletcher, these are average players. We need to have a squad that isnt weakened by subs.

     Unfortunatly i think we do not have a strong enough squad this year to complete of traits of last year,although i hope i am proved wrong.Giggs is a last 20 player at most now(i am not knocking his contribution to the club because he is the best proffesional in the world in how he has acted and performed) however he has lost that extra yard of pace he had and the energy we have seen for so many years.again similar goes with scholesy. We have excellent replacements in nani and Anderson (anderson my tip for world player of the year by 2010) but we have not added any extra to the squad.

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    i just think that england does not produce 1st class keepers. so the idea of having foster lined up for the future makes me laugh. my question is how good can he be? will he be as good as shay given? i don't think so, will he be as good as friedel or james? i don't think so.

    as for kusczak, i don't think he is a keeper we consider for the starting role. he certainly is good enough to be 2nd choice though.

    and VDS is a world class keeper but its a shame he's getting older and his playing days are numbered so, to pull a deal for a top class keeper we should look at experienced but still young keepers.

    cassillas= virtually impossible

    neuer= not very experienced but very good

    buffon= old and expensive

    rensing= young, good but not experienced enough in big games.

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

    I think we are okay for goalkeepers at the moment but when Van Der Sar retires we might need another then but overal we are okay.Anyway when Van Der Sar does retire we have Foster who will be his long term replacement for many years while Kuszczak is a very relible keeper when called upon and then theres young Heaton who is on loan at Cardiff he is a very good young keeper and then we have the likes of Amos who in my opinion had a very good game the other night so yeah i think we are good for keepers Foster as our future number one Kuszczak as number two Heaton third and Amos fourth.But if we were to sign another keeper then i would sign one of these Hart Akinfeev Neuer Carson or if we want experience then maybe we could sign someone like Given.

    Re: A New Goalkeeper?

     I don't think that we need a keeper at the moment, as Kuszczak and Foster both are reliable subs. Amos had a good match the other day, and he seems like a good prospect for the future. VDS will get things going sooner or later, so don't ride him off yet, he is still good for at least this year. I think that we need to keep giving Kus and Foster spot starts as the matchups allow to get a good idea whether or not we can trust them next season, and if not, then I think a signing this summer would be good. I like Ochoa, and he is already a great keeper at 21 years old, and would be my first choice if we were to sign.
