Re: sorry, but nick powell is average

All great players start off in the lower reaches, either in their team academy or in a lower league and we won't really know how Powell will turn out until he's played any length of time.He may be another Ronaldo or just another Djemba Djemba. SAF is a pretty good judge of a player's potential but he has occasionally got it wrong, but not very often.

    Gangster!!:
i hope he proves me wrong,i have seen as many games of him as i can find on youtube and other sites. But apart from his cracking goals,he looks helpless when he has the ball.Sure he must have the physical ability to penetrate in the pl or Sir Alex must have spotted some sort of talent, but i am afraid that he is very, very raw. Are you expecting him to be the finished article at 18. Not even Messi has done that. Since you seem a bit clueless, I'll let you know how it works. Utd have scouts that are employed to find young promising talent. When one is found that fits what Sir Alex is looking for they will attempt to sign the player so that he can be trained the Utd way under our coaches. This will be done at under 18/reserve level, if they are showing true promise Sir Alex will consider loaning them out to a club he sees as suitable to continue this players growth and give them some much needed game time. If the player has a successful loan spell, they an be brought in to train with the first team and compete for selection in a first team game. A recent example of this is Tom Cleverley. Tom was not the player he is now when he was 18. But is now a cracking young player with room still to improve following his exposure to the first team. To summarise, if Powell keeps to the promise he has already shown we will have a good player on our books, if not we will sell him knowing he didn't have it in him to succeed at our level. You really need to take time to check out a player properly before making a comment, rather than just looking at YouTube or football manager.

how can you say he is average he is 18 years old ffs i think you should see how he develops before you make any judgement on him they boy as 1 of the best strikes i have seen on him so the potential is there and at 18 and under fergie how can you possibly say that he might become a good squad player or a world beater 4 million pound is worth the gamble and fergie wanted to sign him after watching him for 1 game so that tells you he seen something very special the crewe chairman said he was shocked in how much fergie wanted this kid and he said to fergie dont you want to watch him all season and fergie said i have seen enough and do you want to do a deal so it fergie i trust and he is man united player now so i will love this kid every time he puts on a united shirt wether he becomes good or not

look i dont want to say anything to offend about POWELL as i have no knowledge about him --- all i will say is we are man utd and ok we need to invest in youth but i want to see us sign players who can make a difference NOW more urgently then future stars --- and powell is 18yo and rated at 4m-6m BUT rooney was rated at 30m and famous all over the world at 18 -- so on that judgement i not too fussed that we got him

Blimey, give him a break. In foorball terms Powell is a little kid. Talent spotting is a fine art anyway. If it were so obvious even your dog could've scouted him by now.

well, I played with him on Fifa and he seemed to be a really bad player - I tell you this is wasted money. who doesn't noticed - that supposed to be a joke.
Well we had better go and tell Fergie to give him back to Crewe then, because Fifa is always an accurate representation of players.

If you're expecting him to make an immediate impact, don't. He's not here for that. He's here for the future. The reason we bought him at this time was because big clubs were snooping around for him. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool were after him.

The guy hasn't even played a match for Man Utd yet and some people are slating him that much ...very unfair! Let me tell you even Ronaldo was average when he came to us from an average Portugal team...! But our machinery at Man Utd will carve him into a big player i'm sure!!!
