    Re: welbeck's finishing

Hats off for your splendid irony display.. I newer said anything about down hill. If you look at the top ten strikers in the world right now, you will notice that many of them showed great skills at the age of 21-22... expecially if they were playing for one of the best teams in the world.... If you think that I hope Welbeck doesn't succeed at United, then thats the second thing you misunderstood in my post.
To suggest a player should be at his peak at 21 is amazing! Barring the odd couple, strikers wont be at the top of their game until at least their mid-twenties.

Also, to suggest that someone is at their peak, then when i say the only way is down is correct.

Can you not see his improvement, even in just the last couple of years? He's growing into a powerful, pacey striker, he's link up play is improving every game. He's taken to international football like a duck to water. He will improve year on year for many seasons to come.

A little more composure in front of goal and we will have a top class striker on our hands in a couple of years.

I find it hard to see enough quality in Welbeck to be first choice at United. Same goes for Hernandez. It's a shame though, cause I like both players - but we can't rely on Welbeck sudently getting much better - he should have been close to his peak now, with the amount of played games and his age...
Close to his peak now!? Wow. People really don't understand football. One of the most nonsense and one of the worst comments I've seen on here for a long time and I've seen a lot of rubbish.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death I assure you it's much more serious than that

    Re: welbeck's finishing

Welbeck's work rate is exemplary, his touches around the box is at times, class and he has a good all round balance to his game. I always thought when he played a few games for us before going out on loan, that he was an excellent finisher, he was playing wide and was frustrated that he wasn't given the chance up top. I'm so glad he is doing well, for England and Man Utd as a striker and I see no problem with his finishing. People who were dubbing him the new Heskey at the start of the season have soon had to change their ideas.

Good bit of transfer speculation this.

You hit the nail of the head their mate! What the hell has this got to do with anything? Typical over-reaction to the national team going out last night. This is the Manchester United Transfer Speculation board. This doesn't warrant a place on here. Can a moderator please remove this thread.

i wondered if anyone was going to pick on welbeck after the england game, i think your the first one.
Which isnt surprising. Was one of the few players to come out of the tournament with credit.

Very proud and more than happy for him to be leading the line for United and England.

i know and i agree, i have said it once he's not very good or good, but i guess he's still young and can improve, although he's a very good tackler if you notice.
The only thing he lacks from his game is the ability to produce quality finishes week in week out but he is getting there, he allround build up play and is workrate is brilliant and will be a top striker. If the only thing you have noticed is he is a good tackler then you need to watch him more closely, end of thread. This by the way isnt transfer speculation, i wondered if anyone was going to pick on welbeck after the england game, i think your the first one.

was tormented to see him not scorin g that goal and it wasn't first time...seriously he has to work on it
So are you debating whether he should be replaced or not seen as how this is in transfer spec?

Young, talented player who is still very much learning his trade as a striker, one of the finest prospects to come out of our accedemy in years and just because he misses the target every now and again the lad is being slated.

I also take it you missed his goal against Sweden and some of his belters last year?
