    Re: Trinity: Kagawa, Welbeck, Rooney

Play this line up in a 4 3 3 De Gea Rafael Vidic Smalling Evra/Baines Carrick Cabaye/Moutinho/Modric Kagawa Nani Rooney Young/Rodriguez Subs Lindegaard Hernandez/Welbeck Cleverley Valencia Young/Rodriguez Jones Anderson I think that is a brilliant line up we can play in many differnt formations etc and rotate players. We would have plenty of options all over the pitch which is what we need for a very long and hard season that can throw up all sorts injury wise for example.

Our Attack looks Ok now, but we must tighten up at the back, and get a Strong Commanding Midfielder....IMO

    interesting stuff
    mb28mbrook:
I really see Kagawa and Chicharito having the best link up play, i think Kagawa will bring out the best of Chicharito (as well as his summer rest, finally!), Kagawa passes in behind defences will suit Chicha's runs in behind...

That's probably what i'm most excited about seeing from Kagawa!

    Only 2 teams in Manchester

Manchester United and Manchester United Reserves

Still worried about our Midfield..........Would like to see a Strong Commanding Midfielder, that will control this area, breaking up attacks, and help out in defence, when needed.......

Valencia being left out isn't because he's not good enough, it's because he's an out and out winger which means he only fits a formation with either a block of 4 or a block of 5. 4231 needs attacking midfielders, and 433 needs wide forwards.
If last year is anything to go by, Fergie will have a block of 3 interchanging attackers towards the middle and left hand side, Welbeck LW & SS (with the possibility of Cleverley or more attacking of the two coming in as well) and leaving a large place on the right hand side where Valencia will patrol. I don't see Fergie deviating from that very much.

Average positions in one of last years games. Pretty much all the games followed this pattern.
Not sure that that's what on Sir Alex's mind though. The fact we were bidding for Hazard as well as the interesting quotes from Rodriguez's agent, it seems we're stock piling attacking midfielders/versatile attackers. To me I think it will be more like what we tried to do in the last derby. Then we had Rooney, Nani, Park and Giggs, the latter two (as well as the lack of mobility in a Scholes/Carrick midfield) are the reason to why it didn't work. Now add Welbeck who was injured, and Kagawa instead of Park and that's what I reckon we're aiming at.

The are all capable, including Nani, of playing anywhere in the final third. The interchanging and link up play would be great.
the worry is still that midfield imo..

Yes, would expect Welbeck, to chip in with more goals, this season.........Kagawa to add a few extra also....Will have to tighten up, at the back though...... Just hope Vidic will stay fit, and we attract, a top Commanding Box to Box Midfielder, to come to us........Then we will challenge for all honours.....,

i'm sorry.....left valencia out????.....i think maybe we should use this formation in europe...
For some reason being being the most consistent and lethal in terms of assists (a better assists per game ratio last year than anyone in the premier league and most other leagues) coupled with the fact he brings out the best in his right back and is hard working enough to track back.

Regardless of whether he fits the interchanging style, you don't drop him in this form, you let the other 9 out fielders play the dynamic stuff and let the beast do his thing on the right- at worst it adds variety and at best it wins you games.

I think its wishful thinking if that "Trio" will be any good next season. Myabe against the weaker teams affter some geling, but against tougher opposition its still pretty weak, Last season united got lucky with alot of results. Without a Defensive mid, another CB and FB no amount of attacking players will help us avoid conceding patheticly schoolboy goals. Defenders cost us last season not attackers, get some god dam cover!!
This trio had 55 goals and 21 assists between them last season, go on, tell me how wishful thinking it is to think they will be good next season.
