    Re: Manchester Evening News -

Man RVP IS GREAT THING.. He may have 2 Seasons in him at Top level but thats enough. If he can get us one EPL or 1 CL in those two seasons MONEY WELL SPENT! I looked in UEFA Money transfers for the CL winners etc.. We were 9th from the teams I believe with 38ml pounds .. For example winners Chelsea took 61 while Barca Bayern /real took 48.. We got those 38 only because we are Man Utd and are the most popular club...If we had reached 1/2 final we would have gotten atleast 55 million pounds.. If we win CL we would have gotten 70 or more.. RVP transfer can easily be PAID if we win a trophy or two with him at the helm.. Its simple math. Losing EPL probably did not cost that much maybe 10/15 millions Tops in revenue/merchandise going to CIty etc.. But If we fail on emore season loses will be bigger.. If we fail another one after that more loses.. 15 million pounds is pocket change for a chance to win a trophy .. Barca paid 23 millions euro for Alba... Real bought Contrerao for 30 .. I mean players cost money but they win games.... Same logic is that MIlan paid 25 millions for Ibrahimovic at 28 ... IN return 1st scudeto CL again... Man City paid 30 million for Aguero = Return EPL... If we can get RVP get him ! With him we win EPL and crush Man City/Chelsea dreams... THIS SEASON IS MAKE OR BREAK FOR US. We either win BIG or we fail behind our rivals ... And believe me if we win nothing this season I AM SUre SAF WILL RETIRE and we will be in transition phase...

    Re: Manchester Evening News -

It seems like Man Utd, because of their owners, are not able to make big money purchases anymore. Even so, I do not believe that any of SAF's +-30 million quid purchases were great purchases for Man Utd, except maybe Wayne Rooney. With the money needed to purchase RVP + his wage demands, RVP is a 30 million plus quid buy. I always believed that SAF, mainly & generally is able to spot talent & differentiate (along with potential & ability, etc.) between the real winners. Is RVP a winner? RVP had a wonderful 2012 & scored a lot of goals but they could not beat a relegated team to the worthless cup & he was terrible at & part of an average performing team at the Euros - are we to believe that when the chips are down he is going rise above 6 years of being a loser with a whiner as a manager from a flashy show horse mentality to be a true winner - not of one game but he has to turn up & win the games against the bottom ten & he comes from a culture of not doing well against teams with steel & scrappers? Then are we going to get get 40 games a season from him? I have much more faith in what we have in Welbeck, Rooney & Chicarito & remember in Nick Powell we have a player who is going to be converted into an attacking midfielder ala Brian Robson & a young Paul Scholes who I think wanted to be a striker. Just remember that we lost the league because we gave away 2 goals against Everton & 1 against Wigan - that will not happen again with the return of the great Vida & a more settled back 4 + goalie this season. The wheels have turned - we shall win 4 EPLs in a row & be the first team to succesfully defend a champions league in a while & please, pretty please, I miss the FA Cup oh so much....

Sorry I posted this image in the Moura thread because I didn't notice this thread. I'll post it here aswell for anyone that hasn't already seen it.

What do you guys make of this? It seems Arsenal was Van Persies boyhood team , sorry if this has already been posted in this thread. If I was in his shoes playing for my boyhood club , there would not be enough money in the World to convince me to turn my back on them. But hopefully Van Persie's hunger for trophies will help us get him.

He isn't leaving because of money and he has always said that. he is leaving because he wants silverware
Yeah I know that mate otherwise he'd only be interested in moving to City or another sugar daddy team. The only reason I brought money up was because I was just trying to say that if I was in his position , playing for the team I support I would not leave for any amount of money because im already with the team of my dreams.

It does seem very likely that RVP will leave Arsenal and it actually does look like success is coming first for once , instead of the wages. If that really is the case , then fair play to him.

I agree it does look like he is moving for success which is to be admired. it's sad what football is becoming these days

    RVP

Gentlemen, why would RVP even consider coming to United. Money - no - more across the street. Titles - no - our current squad are abject and got what they deserved last season, absolutely nothing. Would you join a club who were humiliated in the Europa league and beaten 6-1 by City. If he leaves Arsenal, he won't be going anywhere near the M6. This is just spin, probably spread by Gill, to suggest that we are still a force in the transfer market. Face facts. We're broke, leveraged to the hilt and probably will have no funds until the share issue is fully subscribed. Get used to a fat Andrson and over-rated Cleverly again this season, because that's what we're getting, plus the no value in the market mantra. It's about time SAF dusted off that old chestnut. Tell that to Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs who have all bought well.

can people stop saying we don't need van persie it's so stupid! he'd be a great signing he'd bring leadership and experience and goals! we have not signed a midfielder but adding more firepower will definetly solve that problem or lessen the need of that problem.

donald p to sign for united:
van Persie must have learnt Goku's instant transmission since he appears to be in Germany and Manchester almost simultaneously.
Why sign giroud and podolski if he is staying?
