heck yes! he was an excellent signing! and he proved it a lot last season! He was definatly worth 17 mil. I think he has only scored 2 or 3 times but he helps the midfield a lot. When he plays, he sometimes reminds me of Deco, as he DECOrates the midfield.

good to see so many people saying they believe owen was a good signing ,he performed to the highest standards when united really needed him to ,and for him to do this when he probably knew he was doing more harm than good to his health just speaks volumes for his love and desire to play football at the highest standard possible, the fact hegets paid a fortune helps to.Ihave recently retired due to having no ankles left and im still chomping at the bit to get out there on a saturday and play and i dont get paid,at 43 i still love the game.Anyone borrow me 2 sets of ankles?

Of course he is a good signing. Its just the injury which is keeping him out. But am sure once he is back, he is an asset to the team.

Definitely.his appearences have been on and off,but he was crucial for us last season. It's a real pity that he's out for the season so i hope he makes a super-speedy recovery.Even if he is available by march, that will be great. But still, its no point rushing him,in case his tendinitis resurfaces or something. At least we know we have a fresh new 'signing' like what sir alex said.I absolutely do not regret the signing of hargreaves even though his medical history may have instigated the media to crop up some lame new that we're gona sell him.I love the way he celebrated when he score by wagging his tongue like a cute kid,and i hoping for that to happen a lot more often nxt season if not this!Get well soon owen,we're behind ya!

Re: Was Hargreaves a good signing?

Owen Hargreaves is one of the most versatile players out there, who wouldnt want that for thier team? He does his job very very well, no matter what position he happens to be in, he's proved himself time and again, hes got loyalty and pride for the team hes with. Just becuase he found himself injured this season does not for a millisecond make it plausable for one to say he was not a good signing, its not like he went out and injured himself on purpose...and besides, he is an intellegent player, humble yet fun-loving kinda person.. great for morale, whether on the side-lines or on the pitch... which team wouldnt want that? its just as much about heart and personality as it is about footballing prowess, you need both to form a successful team, Hargo provides both.

no doubt he is. there is risk in every business. the injury is unfortunate. however, HAGO has paid his dues with the few matches he has played for us.can somebody tell me what could have been if HAGO wasn't in Moscow? well remember A C Milian?

Re: Was Hargreaves a good signing?

when he was signed SAF said the main reason for his arrival was for away games in champs league n other tough games. he did his job perfectly well in the champs league n played very well in away games against arsenal n liverpool along with anderson last yr. so basically he's did his job. this yr he's been very unfortunate wid injuries but lets hope he'll be back not just because he a great player but also there are very few available replacements out there.

yes, he was a good signing.

Hargreaves is a very experienced player to have and i was really excited when we made our interest in him publicly.

It's a shame though he has his problems with injuries but being the fighter that he is, i'm full of hope he'll be back even stronger

    Was Hargreaves a good signing?

I know my opinion of different players is alot different 2 other ppl but I was just wondering what other united fans thought of Owen Hargreaves. I myself think that it was a huge waste of money buying someone jus because they played well for a few games at the international stage, and hes always injured. What does everyone else think of him as a player and the signing? Was it a waste of money?
