Thanks mate, it is true that VIDIC has been the standout defender...but also special mentions should go to...how i culd i forget...the most versatile player on this earth...John O'shea...and Raphael who has also stood out....Van Der Sar...also @ his best...id keep him as keeper til i cant stand nemore Lol

Last yr i believe we can thank our silverware to alot of great goalscoring...thanks to our boy cristiano...and of course our last minute hero TEVEZZZZZ....but this yr...i think we shuld all throw our support behind our defence. The boyz have been rock solid...and its been a changed lineup through those 11 games...great to see rio back today....but evans, evra and VIDIC have all been fantastic....and vidic shuld really be considered player of the yr....his efforts have been second to none...and it never looks like a player can get past him....rio has taught him well!!....but they r still very different defenders...and they really do compliment eachother. Another special mention to 2 of the very unsung heroes i think....Neville and Park....park has been tremendous everytime ive seen him play this season...he has never let us down...and i think he is one of a kind like tevez....ive never seen 2 players run and work so hard for a team before....every team needs a balance...n these guys fit in perfectly...last but not least...Mr Gary Neville. WHAT A LEGEND...he mite not be as fast as he used to be...or even as good as he used to be...but this guy is united through n through jus like scholes n giggsy...he has played to the best of his ability in so many games this season...and to come back after all that time out....watching the champions last yr...who knew he culd even get a spot back in the team?...i for one am just putting it out there...that all u guys slating Neville, dont no nething about the beautiful game...if ne1 can read the game...its him....a RED DEVIL for life...good on you Gary...keep the great performances up!

Well said mate. It is great to see another passionate supporter on this forum. Vidic indeed has been a rock this season but as you have said there are many more who deserve praise.

Defence starts from the front and when the opposition have forward players like Tevez, Rooney and Park in their faces straight away it unsettles them.

That is the key to our success. Unsettleing players not normally comfortable on the ball as soon as they get it, winning back posession and making use of it as we did tonight.
