    Expect the unexpected!

First, Totti will play regardless of what the news or the Roma camp are saying.

Second, Tevez will play especially the way the four (Tevez, Rooney, Scholes and Ronaldo) have combined to demolish Villa. We need away goals and we will get alot in Roma with Tevez harrassing the opposition.

Thanks for the update, mate, but I think some of us aren't quite predicting the lineup as much as stating who we want to be there. In any case, the news gets to us pretty late here in South East Asia... Only just read that VDS, Giggsy, Evra and Rio were on the plane to Rome...

i would like to point out a few things to the ignorant people who apparently do not read the news...firstly:saha is INJURED(again). secondly, nani is having a thigh strain like saha and did not travel with the squad to rome.thirdly, forster is ineligible to play in the champs league because he is not registered for the competition.

please people,if you are a real red devils fan go read the news before you post your prediction for your starting lineup or you'll make yourself look like fools

Roma are a bit like Arsenal - they are at their best when allowed to play one-touch passing bootball, keeping the ball on the ground with a lot of wall passing to build up their attack.  That's why, like in the Arsenal game, we have to smother their midfield by playing 3 midfielders, Hargreaves, Anderson and Carrick or Scholes.  Pity Fletcher is not available as his style of play would have been ideal. We have to counter attack at speed with Ronaldo, Nani and Rooney to obtain the away goal.  And I'm very confident we will.

SAF will definitely play his 'favourite' formation for european away match -> 4-5-1.. i never like this formation coz away goal are crucial in european tie. past record show us we arent capable score more than 1 goal with that attitude and formation (except kiev this season)

giggs is injured, even he will recover for tomorrow, i hope nani will get a nod. we have a lot of important matches around. report said totti will be out. but i expect he'll play tomorrow.

my prediction, 2-1 win for united.

MU will face away match, from the recorded we see MU away match at Italy side not very good. The chance for win only 40% but i'm very confidence tomorrow match MU will win. The result is 0 - 1. MU GOGOGO...........Giggs is still not fix yet for that match..........

    MU Line Up

                                       VDS

    Brown                 Rio                   Vidic                   Evra

    Ronaldo             Carricks              Scholes               Anderson

                            Rooney                        Tevez

Surpriseermm giggs? giggs injured right? nway.. it's an endurance weeks for our player mentally & physiquely.. saha would make some contribution towards the game & maybe could be lining up as a stater ahead of tevez. Park & nani were not included in our romping 4-0 win over villa, certainly both would have some parts in the game.. i predicted a cautious & tactical game from roma.. hmm maybe tight.. 2-1 to man utd

    My Team Line up:

                                              Kuszczak

           Brown                  Rio                       Vidic                          Evra

                                  Carrick                     Giggs

                                               Scholes
           Ronaldo                                                                     Nani

                                                 Rooney

Subs: Anderson, O'Shea, Hargreaves, Tevez, Foster, Saha

If it didn't look like this was working, I'd take off Giggs and Scholes after the break, revert to a straightforward 4-4-2 with Ando and Tevez coming in. Carrick to the middle of the park with Ando, Ronny and Nani on either wing, Tevez playing just behind Rooney. Saha a possible late sub, to take the centre forward's role.

My prediction: AS Roma 0 - 3 Man Utd.

Based on the injuries i think we'll play a quite defnensive side (damage limitation) a form of the 4-5-1. If giggs and rio have niggles he shud rest them. we cant aford to risk them with the title run in.

                     Kuszczak

    O'Shea   Brown   Vidic  Evra

                     Hargreaves

    Park  Carrick  Scholes  Ronaldo

                    Rooney

Roma are a deent side but by the looks of their offoals at the draw believe this one is over before kick off! without totti they are less of a threat and fergie may look to close the tie out in the 1st leg with a 1-0 win .

Heaton, Silvestre, Pique, Nani, Anderson, Tevez

Possibly our Best Lineup for the Away game against Roma :-

                                     VDS

    Brown         Ferdinand      Vidic        Evra

                             Hargreaves
                 Carrick                   Scholes
         Ronaldo                                   Giggs

                                   Rooney

    Subs :- Kuszczak,Tevez,Nani,Anderson O'Shea, Pique, Saha

Prediction :- I feel Roma will put up a brave fight and Man Utd will be 2-0 winners against them . I expect a Ronaldo brilliance as usual to get thro the Roma defence and will be his 36th of this season and a late goal from our Super Striker Tevez .

Key Players :- Hargreaves and Carrick (those 2 are absolutely crucial and will hold the key for the Chess-like midfield battle against them) , Ronaldo (do i even need to say what he is capable of ?) and Tevez (he's carried the United tradition beautifully of scoring crucial late goals and i get a feeling he's gonna be THE player for us after coming as a sub after 60-65 minutes)

    Re: v Roma *Pre-match Discussion*

I think we will probably have a full squad to choose from, hopefully we will. The knocks we are worrying about will hopefully be shaken off.

    If so, the lineup(I want/think):

                                 VDS

    Brown         Ferdinand      Vidic        Evra

     Ronaldo       Carrick     Scholes      Nani

                      Rooney     Tevez

Subs: Kuszczak, O'Shea, Pique, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Giggs, Saha

I want Giggs to come on for Nani with about 20 minutes left, I think he can still offer something for shorter periods of a match, with Anderson and Hargreaves coming on for Tevez and Scholes at some stage.

I think we have what it takes to beat Roma, but we will have to watch Totti(if he is fit), Mancini and Vucinic closely.

Prediction: 1-0 to Utd. (Ronaldo, Rooney or Tevez)

We have a poor record in Italy, but I hope we can get a win here as we are on good form, and have the players. Which will help us even further coming back to Old Trafford.
