Diego Maradona by a country mile is the best player I've seen in my lifetime.  You only need to look at his performances in the 1986 World Cup to see why.  Never before has one player completely dominated a tournament and it hasn't happened since either.  Forget about his Hand of God goal and instead look at his second goal against England.  Simply breathtaking.  The word genius is used a lot about players, wrong in my view, but Maradona was a football genius. 

Just a few starting with Best, Pele, Puskas, Garrincha, di Stefano, Beckenbauer, Eusebio, Maradona, Giggs, Jairzinho, Socrates, Cruyff, Neeskens, Denis Law, Gerd Muller, Bobby Moore, Zidane, Bremner, Dalglish. They do not come that good any more.

Zidane is the best player ive ever seen in my lifetime. But for Man Utd, my favourite ever is Cantona and never forget the time when he scored against Liverpool in the fa cup final in 1996. a great year for football and we had Euro 96 also.

I was born in 93 so I was too young to rememebr Cantona or the treble year. So my answer would have to be Cristiano Ronaldo, for Man United and World football.
