Re: Man Utd supporters make me ashamed to be a Man Utd supporter

I agree very much, about the youth policy, that has always been the way with this great club, I would like to see more home grown talent if we can find them, at least they would be loyal, unlike Ronaldo, sure he was a great player, but we made him a great player, he was just an average player when he came to us, and we made him the best player in the world. If you understand the history and tradition of this great club, as a supporter you would never ever support another team, the same thing applies if you are a player you should never ever leave for another team, because if you do you are taking a backward step. how can any player leave Manchester united f.c and honestly believe they can do better, i just cannot see that. best wishes to all the true Manchester united fans all over the world.

the youth players of the 1990s (esp. the one that won The Treble).

Ah, The Fergie's Fledgelings. How great would it be to see Fergie's Fledgelings II. This is certainly one of the best threads, mate. Hey Keza. Great post. Probably one of the best ones this summer. You have inspired many true supporters to come into this forum and give great posts. I thank you for that.

I agree with your points. We have been through these conditions in the past. We are one of the top clubs in the world, one of the most successful, and we have great youth players. I have pointed out in the past that we should not buy anyone. Rather, we should focus on our great youth players. I want them to be like the Busby Babes and the youth players of the 1990s (esp. the one that won The Treble). Also, as you stated, Manchester United is supported by everyone connected to it. We should support them no matter what happens.

I wish there was a way of separating the fake fans from the loyal supporters.

If by any chance we'll end up without any trophy come next May, we might just did it. Cause fake fans should be gone long before that. Not something i wish for, though... Stick out tongue

I once read a post written by someone who has been supporting United for over 40 years (or so did he claimed). Yet the very same person started threads and replying posts in "astonishing" manners like "Ferguson have lost his mind", "We won't win anything next season" and such. Speaking of loyalty and trust. No wonder why Sir Alex chooses Newcastle United fans as the best group of fans when asked about. Just think about ourselves supporting Newcastle United for once. They've got nothing to be proud of for a very long time now but still got behind their team all the way. Where are we compare to that? Sad, but true...

Great post mate. You've just said what I've been thinking for a while. And probably what a lot of other true supporters have been thinking. I wish there was a way of separating the fake fans from the loyal supporters. Sounds like you know what you're on about so I look forward to reading more of your posts.

I've been a Manchester Utd fan for 20 years and I agree with u.I've hardly made any posts here but your post inspired me to comment. We've seen great players leave before and everytime people are saying its the end of the club. Well, guess what, even if it is true, WE SHOULD STILL SUPPORT THE CLUB. That is what being a supporter means. We stick with the club thru think and thin. This is not a game of football manager where we always get the players we want. Lets be realistic here.Do you seriously expect the club to spend 80m on Ribery or 40m on Benzema? Where there is no guarantee of success even if we buy them? Owen and Valencia are solid buys. They may not be the marqee names supporters want but they add value to the club in other ways. And why the focus on spending $$$ like water? The club has always focused on its Youth Policy and that should always be the way forward. Frankly, I take more satisfaction and pride in seeing players like Macheda, Evans and Possebon move up thru the ranks rather than buying our way to success like Real Madrid. So pls stop with the complaining. The player and club needs us to support them, not nitpicking behind their backs and undermining their confidence. Thank you.

Yes great reply. please post more often!

Re: Man Utd supporters make me ashamed to be a Man Utd supporter

I'm abit disgraced with the reaction of fans forcing and chanting asking SAF to leave. He buys raw talent and convert it to diamond. I strongly believe Nani has a future with us. He is not too far behind CR7 in term of speed and agility just we didnt give him enough chance. With CR7 gone, Berba will be playing in a more favourable position generating goals for us with Rooney supporing in the middle. Anderson and Welbeck are not too far behind either.

    magnificent post Keza.

some of these people who call themselves fans are a disgrace to this club, and the sad thing is that they are the ones who have given this club its reputation of being a place for "glory-seekers", a tag that we true fans have to put up with.

Re: Man Utd supporters make me ashamed to be a Man Utd supporter

I agree with some of the things you say, but we are second rate when it comes to the transfer market, we all knew Ronaldo was going to leave, so why did we not get a top quality replacement lined up, Tevez is now also gone, and i think the club are to blame for not doing something about it earlier (if they realy wanted to keep him), saying about Nani living up to his potential, come on, who are you kidding, you say Fergie knows best, that my friend is why he doesn't play him, our midfield is now down to it's bare bones, and you seen what Inesta and Xavi did to us in the Rome. We are the second richest club in the world, we shoud have the best players knocking our door down to play for us, but we don't even try, Real Madrid have spent 180million in 22 days, why, because they had a bad season last year, We just sold the best player in the world, got 80 million for him and repay the supporters by putting our season tickets prices up. I know we payed 30million for Berbatov and i for one thought he was a great signing, how wrong was I, his attitude in the F A cup semi final was disgusting espically for those fans like myself spent a fortune getting to that fiasco, I think united supporters are intitled to have a rant.
