If we don't manage anything this season I don't see it as too much of a problem, We managed with youngsters before and that turned out ok with the likes of Beckham, Scholes, Giggs and the rest so let's see if our new crop are up to it

Totally with you.  One thing is analysis.  The other is my personal opinion on it. I don´t need silverware every year.  I want to see good football, that is what counts.  If in the end there is a trophy or not is not the most important to me.  And there will be good football. That´s always enough. :-)

Well said Nightstar. Every Team and I don't care how big they are has to go through transitional periods and this could just another one of ours.

NightStar, give me odds on the Eto'o and Aguero potential transfers. Would what you say the percentage of getting at least one of them or maybe even both? ;-D

i have jus read a piece on sky sports about douglas costa he is a real fan and says he would love to play for them one day so we would be in the same situation in a few years with our star wanting to leave for real. we are pissing against the wind

yes good football is the most important thing. you can afford to end up without a trophy for a season or two but more than that is too bad. but after a longer wait winnig the trophy feels great..

by the way, looking at the threads during the last few days, the situation reminded me of another Georgian saying: " a bear knew 40 songs 39 of which were about honey" I mean aguero:D

    Re: Some news from Spain

I'll type this expecting another attempt to "put me in my place" from the journo with more free time on his hands than Jim Royal but here goes.

You're either attempting to spark a reaction (again) or you have (again) shown an ignorance I find amazing if you truly are who you claim to be.

SAF clearly bought Berbatov in preparation for the departure of Ronaldo, I explained this only yesterday and I know you read it because you responded by belittling my comments without actually evidencing your response as usual.

So SAF has had it sorted well before June, he's not the muppet you seem to want to make him out to be. He's now just adding players that will complement the Berbatov Rooney partnership that's why we're going for the likes of Valencia.

For someone who claims he comes on here because he is a fan of United I find it bizarre that you seem to have such little respect for or knowledge of SAF and the history, even recent history of the man or our club.

As  chicktamonie states this is in no way the first time SAF has been in this position, he has constantly adapted to the changing world of football and constantly built and rebuilt teams and squads that go on to be continually successful no matter who has left.

I only hope you are man enough to admit you're wrong when he does it again even with the signings you are slating him for, I hereby give my word I will post a thread of apology to you Nightstar if the opposite turns out to be true.

     Nightstar your talkin *** lad!

i know for a fact Fergies been monitoring Douglas Costa since he was 15 years old! if thats not plannin fi don't know what is! and fergies already come out and said ''we've done well to keep ronaldo for this long'' so he obviously knew ronnie was gonna leave sooner rather than later!

and the only concrete evidence of us wanting ANY  player is douglas costa aswell, we've had a trial and loan bid rejected by Gremio!

Of course he knew about CR, that´s what I am saying.

An with reference to preparing:   Up to 6th of july there is Costa rejected, Benzema failed, Valencia and Michael Owen signed, needing to replace the best player worldwide and a very good striker, 25 - 30 goals for next season. If that looks like perfect planning to you, I have no objections.

I am not religious, you know.  A manager is a human being, sometimes right and sometimes wrong. Religion prevailes in here, I know that better than anyone else.
