we need to sign a top class playmaker someone with the class of kaka can really run at defenders and create play for the strikers however I only see fergie in buying someone young and turn him into a kaka as they have brought in adem ljajic it just goes to show we need a player who can do it now not in the future as it shown against barcelona. We shought get a player like the Brazilian playmaker Diego who can do it now, should have got him as now he will replace nedved at juventus.

Spot on... But don't r8 Obertan till we've seen him. Beautifully put with "collection of middle class players. " I would also look at Giggs and Scholes' age as a problem this term and i would also say Hargo is quality (When fit) That leave Ando and Hargo. I feel that is the only world class pairing within our midfield. Fletcher... well poor old Fletch isn't really good at much apart from drifting blindlessly across the midfield and clogging all play up at the speed of 3mph. WE ALL KNOW ITS TRUE! People say that he works hard. Looking at this for a moment. When Tevez expressed his desire to play somewhere else so many people changed their tune from he a real hard worker, always busts a gut for the team to a headless chicken can do the same job. The difference is Tevez had quality to back up his running. I'm afraid Fletch a heart of gold alone shouldn't earn you a place in the greatest team to grace the earth. Next there is Carrick. I don't dismind Carrick and feel he is a good player when the team is playing well but he will never change a game when our backs are against the wall like Robson Keane etc. (Champs final unfortunately I know ando didnt play well either but he is still very young) 

By the way if your going to criticise me, it is an opinion. I am unlike most on this forum I support Man Utd but am not afraid to spot weaknesses and let yall know. The place would be a lot more interesting if people could voice an opinion and not be trodden on. Thankyou

our midfield is pretty much outstanding if you ask me!

Giggs: last season he re-found youth somehow and he won't be leaving it soon.
Scholes: the man is still top class and will be till the end of his days as a Man Utd player.

Carrick: A brilliant midfielder, his long-range pass quite amazes me at times. He's just somewhat lazy at times.

Fletcher: One big piece of a midfielder, top of the top homemade players in recent days. His finishing is his only ache.

Anderson: He just needs maturity, the vision is already there.

Nani: Maturity will make him take the right choice, but he's got some technique.

Park: Not the most precise passer or tackler but he is able to free the forwards when he torments fullbacks.

Gibson: The boy's growing adequately and I dub him as our next Flecther, even though, more skilled.

Obertan: A young winger whom the club will develop; he's strong and tall and I assume he might become a concern for oposing defenders in a 3-4 years time.

 Now.....yes, we still lack a defensive safety. and I'm afraid to say only Owen Hargreaves provides such. So if we buy another player I'd love to hear it'll be a new defensive midfielder. We don't need another striker, and we still need a strong reliable holder in the middle who will stop our rivals advance and will recover balls to re-distribute play for our much dangerous attacking players.

fact is lads we have never replaced keano..he would have left xavi and iniesta in bits if we had had him in his prime there

and scholes aint up to top level midfield play anymore....(one of the most talented players ever to play at OT)

it makes me get the blues when i think of keane and scholes in the middle with giggs and becks...then ronny etc.....

players like that dont grow on trees......

i tell ya this though if manchester was in spain we'd be feckin sorted....the lads like keane and scholes are used to this climate here but when foreigners come they hate the weather....sometimes its as simple as that....

Arsenal also bossed the midfield in the 0-0 draw.

The problem is most teams sit back and defend space against United so some of the clueless fans get lulled into a false sense of security thinking we have a great midfield but then on the rare occasion we face opponents that actually go for a win, they go straight through our midfield at will and almost unchallenged.

we lag behind chelsea, liverscum barca and now real madrid in the midfield dept...

we rarely get bossed around in the prem becasue lets face it outside the top 4 or 6 there are not many absolute quality teams out there..the standard is fairly poor to be honest

and though it pains me to say I think liverscum done the league double over us this year becasue they had a better midfield....i also think they would have given barca a real game in Rome!! alonso mascherano and the pr_ick gerrard are a quality midfield and if you disagree with me you know nothing,....i am praying that Real madrid get alonso and barca get mascherano....

we need hargreaves back pronto or a replacement otherwise I dont think we can win champions league this coming season...

Last season after we won the world championship (big deal) and the press were hyping us up to be the best team in the world and the pundits followed like sheep, i was constantly harping on that we were not good enough in the middle of the park.

Carrick isn't good enough for the top level and although Fletcher is very much improved i'm not so sure he is either.

We need hargreaves to be fit and buy Cesc Fabregas for the chamions league knockout stages.

You speak sense fella makes a change on here....some just dont like to admit it...its like the girlfriend thing...your with a girl say Angelina Jolie lol but you look at your mates and no matter how much you try to deny it....she is fitter Megan Fox hahaha...same sort of thing for some united fans they look over at certain midfields and deep down think 'There midfield is better than ours...but i wont admit it'...

I agree 100%.

Thats why people are worried.Dont get me wrong fletcher is a great defensive mid and I think Obertan and Valencia are great assets but, to be honest we dont realy have a single pure goal scoring wing or midfielder.

Right now we should stop worrying about forwards. We have macheda, welbeck, rooney, berba, and owen.
