ronaldo won the player of the year pretty much based on how he performed in the 2007/2008 (just like how messi is going to win player of the year based pretty much on how he did during the 2008/2009 season) the season when queiroz was there.

queiroz picked up on anderson and nani when they was both playing in the portugese league at the time and let's face the brazil and portugese culture are not world's apart are they.

 

Portuguese is spoken in Brazil, hence the close friendship between Ronaldo and Anderson ( Ando spoke no English when he arrived, and forged a friendship with Ronaldo)

I agree, Queiroz was a major influence, Anderson even said in an interview last year that he struggled to understand ferguson. Ronaldo going probably isnt going to help.

Very true. Queiroz's influence did affect these players when he was there and yes brazil and portugal aren't that far away but i don't think its just a coincidence that all of these players would just suddenly start playing poorly (including Ronaldo if you compare him to the 07/08 season) but I though Anderson did well last season. Nani, not so much. call me skeptical lol

I'm starting to think that SAF is buying the "young player" philosophy of Wenger but he is perfecting it more by bringing in more experienced players to help out the future stars. Hopefully it works out and we can have a greater team than we had last season.

ronaldo may have had more assists, because he was playing with better strikers but valencia had a higher percentage of, passes, dribbles and crosses completed, so the service should be better.  as for the guy who said ronaldo wasnt a winger he was a striker, catch a grip, how many games did you watch ronaldo play in?

couple of things

anderson had a good season in my book considering hes an attacking mid playing in a defensive position once he starts scoring everyone who doubts him will start to love him

ronaldo might of got more assists then valencia but how many more chances do man utd make then wigan did hes gonna have so many assists next season relentlessly whipping in balls for berba rooney and owen

and nani has all the potential in the world he just needs to get a decent run of games behind him i think he will step up now ronaldo gone as theres noone left on the team to compare him with and i did compare him to ronaldo but i think if nani had as many games behind him hed be as good as ronaldo

we dont need another striker cos then welbeck or macheda wouldnt get a look in and plus we have giggs orbetan who can play up top also and if we get rooney berba and owen all injured at the same time thats sum bad luck and highly unlikly and i think macheda and welbeck would love the chance for some steady runs in the first team i think welbeck is gonna see a fair bit of first team action this season if not how does sir alex think he will break into the england team?

No, Ronaldo was a winger / right midfielder. I don't see how you can say Carrick and Anderson are terrible either...you obviously don't know anything about football.

Valencia will give more chances to Rooney and Macheda to score.

Carrick has to have stable form

Anderson is the future of MAN UTD and Brazil.

Nani, he is very good when we attack but defensively he is poor. If he only go back like the rest of the players and start defending well, he will be a shining star.

Park is always good. Yes he doesn't score a lot of goals, but remember all the defensive and attacking participations he has last season.

 There is no excuse for Berba this season. He already has 3 seasons in EPL and played the whole last season with MAN UTD, so he should show his muscles this season.

This season is Macheda's season, as well as Valencia and Anderson.

We have replacement for Ronaldo in form of Valencia..I kno he is not even close to Ronny, but think of it, he is better at given assists which will help Berba N Rooney score more goals than they did wilth Ronaldo.So we will end up scorin same amount of goals when with ronaldo..and the attacking bench is very strong with Owen, Welbeck & Macheda

Nani is just a classy player and not SAF can afford the luxary of Nani a winger weak in back tracking cause Valancia works hard and Nani so can afford a much better advanced role like ronaldo.We also have Tosic and the work horse Park.

Anderson has grown wonderfully as a player last season so has carrick...now dont mention the UEFA final it was just a bad day no one performed well that day...Well and the growth of Fletcher i need not mention...

Last and the best i can say it without a doubt that WE HAVE THE BEST DEFENCE IN THE WORLD.

We have a team ready i think its better to wait and sign quality players lik Kun when market cools down...
