Re: Gavinio's Blog: The Problem With 'New' Wembley

Thanks Gav, a good read that!

I went to the old Wembley, and i must say i was so disappointed! What a hole of a place!

So the talk started of building the new stadium. Why oh why didnt they build it in Birminghan Or Manchester?! Crazy in my opinion. Its just another case of everything going to the Londeners as per usuall, A disgrace!

Now we come to the point where everything they can is taken away from other parts of the country so they can ram the massive c.ock up that is New Wembley down our throats!! (eg FA Cup semi's at Old Trafford & Villa Park, two fantastic venues)

I'll add to your list of grievances with new Wembley Gav, Im Welsh, And what has driven me wild is when Wembey was being developed the FA borrowed the MILLENIUM STADIUM for the Major games, and low and behold as soon as Wembley is finished (late), Goodbye Millenium hello Wembley without as much as a thank you! Now would it have been too much to ask if as a gesture of goodwill (the same the Millenium offered the FA) if the FA kept a FA Cup semi or a league cup game or two at the Millenium stadium?? Also I've been to the new Wembley and The atmosphere is not a patch on the millenium stadium, is no nicer, and the Millenium Stadium cost half the price and has a better pitch!

Personally i like what they do on the continent anyway, rotate the Stadiums! I believe Britain to have the best Stadia in the world, lets think, in England alone you have, Old Trafford, St James' Park, Villa Park, The Emirates, St Mary's, Ricoh Arena, I could go on and on...!! Thats just England alone! What is wrong with bringing the game to the people all over the country, and not just the Londoners?!

Makes my blood boil Gav! Great post tho! lol

Uniteds sole is never sold so proudly wear the Green and Gold
