Re: Manchester United to write open letter to fans - Wenger chant.

Let's not forget that this is "only" football. There are boundries that shouldn't be crossed and i'm affraid chants like this are ruining our clubs name.I hope our fans will stop singing this song and maybe other fans will stop singing their Munich songs too...who knows...worth i try.

Calling someone names shows a distinct lack of intelligence.......................Wenger doesn't deserve such treatment he has always been a worthy adversary that should be treated with respect.

We as fans, fathers etc. need to respect others so that the following generation will do the same.  I can't stand Liverpool.  I really don't like Arsenal either, yet a line should be drawn as to what is appropriate.  I think it is fine to tease about the fact the 'Pool do not have a Premiership title.  Yet we should never jeer one of their players based on color, creed or ethinicity.

Well said, Matt. Ingham, mate... it sounds as though you're burning the midnight-oil.

I'd be honest with ya all...its a good sign...but it wont stop....everyone gets carried away in the moment....wenger should be happy though that he is not managing leeds or liverpool...cuz fergie wont have addressed this issue then..

"everyone gets carried away in the moment" Exactly. That's why it needs addressing.

Crowd behaviour is often cowardly - and in some circumstances dangerous. That's exactly why lines need to be drawn - because some individuals enjoy the hatred, while others who wouldn't normally do an action get swept along because they are not strong enough to resist.

If you wouldn't say the same thing directly to him if you met him face to face, then you know it's not right, so there's no excuse. Some things are not a joke.

I have two lovely boys who are sweet by nature.  It is my job as a father to demonstrate to them what it is to be a caring respectful human being.  Whether I like it or not much of my character was developed by my father.  If I saw my father behaving poorly when jeering an adversary, then there is a good posibility that I would do the same.

Re: Manchester United to write open letter to fans - Wenger chant.

I too am very protective of my kids and yes, I did ask her what her problem was with him but she wouldn't say because her friend had made her promise not to.  It would have saved a lot of trouble if she had told me I can assure you but it all came out when he went to prison and I saw to that myself.  I carry quite a lot of guilt about this tur-d  because I used to speak to him and thought he was an ok kind of guy.  The lowlife appears to be one of the most respectable people you could ever meet and even has a wife who stayed with him for some reason best known to herself.

The point is there is no-one lower than this scum or anyone who hurts children but it's completely impossible to judge from looking at them what kind of person they are.  They definitely don't go around advertising the fact, that's for sure, and they don't necessarily look like the stereotype. Therefore, I think it's bang out of order to go around calling someone a name like that and I would say the same if it was Benitez, any Liverpool or City fan or anyone else for that matter.  It just doesn't belong in football and by chanting that rubbish that some of the fans are doing, they belittle the club and just get us all a bad name.  There is absolutely nothing whatsoever funny about that type of lowlife and it's definitely not the subject to make a joke of.

I know someone that sent a letter to the premier league. In this letter he was complaining about clubs singing songs about Munich. Amazingly, he got a reply and I've seen this reply it said "there is no evidence of any clubs singing songs about the Munich air disaster!"

Its good to know the power hasnt gone to your head Gav lol....

Anyways i think letters, pleas, messages etc all fall on death ears with some fans no matter how much people go into detail of what should be done. You cannot rid the world of idiots its impossible and no matter how hard some try United will always have supporters who over step the mark, it has happend since the game began and will continue to do so, the best way to deal with this is for people around the numptys who sing them chants is to make them feel ashamed, dont join in and actually sing over them with other songs that arent half as offensive.

I really do think some are overeacting, i mean lets put this into perspective, Wenger is respected by many in football and rightly so and by some United supporters aswell and he shouldnt be called them names as his standing in the game is one of a high calibre but i cant help but think this wouldnt be a big issue like it is now if it was aimed at say...Benitez for example, that i have my doubts on.

No, I am happy to say I can't.  I do know what it's about though, which is enough for me.

Perhaps those who started it would benefit from living next door but-one to the sort of lowlife they are calling Wenger (as I have to do), then they would really know what they are talking about.  Unfortunately this animal cannot be removed because he has served his time (well, half of it anyway), got off with the second "incident" and owns his own house. What makes me feel even worse is that I once told my daughter off for being rude to him because she said she didn't like him.

I'm sorry for going on about this, but it's something I feel very strongly about and it's a subject which is in no way, shape or form funny!!!

you told your daugter off for being rude to him cos she doesn't like him? did you ask why she doesn't like him? if 1 moved in next door to me i don't think i could controll myself enough to not hurt them, I am rather protective of my baby boy though.
