back to the question: no, I don't think the boy's ready to play today, this is too much of a match and only experienced players will deal with the huge presure it means.

 Anyone know if playing Obertan on the left wing means he's playing out of position? I've seen highlights of him playing for the French U21 side a couple of times on MUTV and he was playing on the right wing. I've also heard pundits talking about how he played on the right wing for Bordeaux. 

Being a right footed winger whos played predominately on the right you have to assume that it's his strongest position. When he was bought I assumed that he was cover for Valencia. Whilst I'm sure there are many players that can do a good job in a few positons, surely having a winger on the side of the pitch where he can cross with his stongest foot is fairly important.

Now I missed the Moscow match where a lot of people are saying he played well. Did he get in a lot of good crosses with his left foot or did he keep cutting inside? If he can cross well with both feet then he would appear to be very promising.

 as good as he has been playing, ferguson aint gonna start him.

I think Obertan should start, on the left, Chelsea have no regular right back, and his pace and ball retention could be key.

 I would not start him, he's too unexperienced. But hopefully he'll be a used sub.

Bring him on as a sub in 60 to 65 mins and he will make impactbut in last match he came really late but still he made impact.

But giggs surely start because he rocks.

this is not a game to boost anyones confidence, anyway, yes he should play but only because hes good and no one knows him and he is a terrific player. I always say he should play on the left wing and giggs in the middle.

 

It's strange that people judge Obertan already over two performances (nice ones I must say!), and would fancy him to start against Chelsea. To me the boy's been brilliant so far, and the future looks bright, but throw him into the lions cage already? Chelse? Away? Wow... That's a bit too much to ask from him.

I do! :) He had like a 95% pass ratio against CSKA (only one cross off target) and didnt get the ball taken away once. Put him to the wing, giggs to the middle.
