He's looked really impressive throughout the Olympics.I'd be happy to see us sign him, he's big, strong and good on the ball.

I'd go for Nuri Sahin personally. He barely kicked a ball for Real last season. Let's rescue him from being a bench warmer in Madrid.

He's currently making Ajax CT look brilliant. The guy is just not the player he once promised to become.

I've been thinking this. I said at the time we should have snapped up Sneijder when he left Real, they often buy top players but find they don't need them or it doesn't work out and sell them a year or two later. I think two of Sahin, L. Diarra and Gago could go and I'd be very happy with either Sahin or Diarra.

Well that's my something new learnt for the day! I had no idea we'd signed up to such a deal but it sounds like either a) bad business OR b) that we haven't had any intention of signing anyone that would motivate the fans to storm the club shop in their millions since that deal was done (which is a bit of a depressing thought).

A lot of people on here seem to rubbish the possibility of signing any 'big name players' on the basis that we can't afford to spend/refuse to spend that amount of money on just one player. I just thought I'd bring up a few of the figures reported in AS (a Spanish paper) and other media regarding the Ronaldo deal which make ...
